using Wordpress for blogging is like using IE for browsing - pathetic!!!!
slow as shit !!!! I still have two blogs running Wordpress, they load much slower than my blogs on the same hosts using other blogware (is that a word?)
|
because your server is fucked?

what blogware are you using ? |

I also purchased a copy of blog organizer - that's probably the best thing after the sliced bread and the blowjob: http://bo.cheapestwebsoftware.com/ makes it possible to run 1 million blogs from the same place, add trades, RSS feeds, you name it |
post urls...
Dont think wordpress is slow on me, but havent really tried anyone else. Heard that it uses lots of ram though |

I've heard that WP cache can work wonders with larger blogs. I haven't tested it myself, but it might be able to help you out. |
You don't need a slow browser with a slow html page. Use blog editors and manage/add all your blog posts from one responsive program:
http://www.thumblogger.com/blogapi/newindex.html or my own blog editor: http://www.adultblogwebmaster.com/blogpostbuilder/ |
I strongly suggest you to use serendpity instead wordpress.Adress sy9.org

checking it out, 40 default templates - not too bad ;) |
hmm lets see if i have this correct..
Using the most popular blog software for blogging is like using the most popular browser for browsing... hmm that sounds about right.. i have a few interesting facts for you as well.. Using heinz ketchup for your hotdog , is like drinking at starbucks for your coffee |

popular != the best, otherwise I would've had Britney Spears in my CD player instead of Freshly Ground |
I'm running 5-6 blogs on a server and don't have any problems

Wordpress is pretty damn good.
depends on if you want to stick with php or not. depends on your server situation - i hope its apache |
I love the donkeys that always go against the grain. Fight the power, idiots.

:1orglaugh :1orglaugh I would have to add: Using myspace for your social networking needs is like using *nix to run your server. That being said, WP is a bit of a freaking memory hog. Also using other blog platforms might make them less of a target for comment spam, although SK2 is working like a charm still. |
Try a wordpress caching plugin, or even an apache caching plugin. Worked wonders for me and I run a LOT of sites on one server.

more nice blogware at http://opensourcecms.com/

I'm curious to what the limit is |
So is this the one you're using Antonio?
s9y.org I'd actually love to try out a few uber light memory hogging blog scripts for fun. :thumbsup |

wordpress is an sql hog and bogs down servers :(
|
funny how different people have different views, i only use wordpress because i search the web and most places seemed to recommend it..
|
Ya, it's a problem, but WP is no worse than similar others. Here's a good read that relates to a slightly bigger (but fully relevant) picture -- http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...tchLngTail.asp 2hp |
