Will it be worth it to wait in line overnight for a PS3?
 

I'm thinking of waiting in line to grab one and put it up on EBay. How much do you think people will be willing to pay right at first? They will be damn near impossible to get for awhile so I'm thinking people might pay some ridiculous amounts...

No one has any input on this?

People will of course pay a fortune for one. So it probably would be worth your wait. Personally though if i stayed out overnight for one, i'd rather keep it to myself.

it depends.. if you coud sell it with $1000 profit and that is a amount of money for you, than just do it.. if $1000 is a double vallet tip, just don't do it..

I wouldnt bother, people learned from the xbox360 ebay madness and ebay will be flooded with ps3s. That's my :2 cents: anyway.

I think it lauches in the us LONG before europe, so I am sure lots of people in europe are ready to get one fast!

I have a small party of people that will be scouring various stores for them, I want to get at least five units but would be great to get more. Profit is going to be really nice on them thanks to eBay idiots (well... and parents). I'm expecting 1200 to 1400 per unit on Ebay, but it could always go higher.

just pre order a couple where you know they'll hold it when you put down a deposit. then go the next day. putting it on ebay at 12:05am isnt that big of a difference than 10:05am

Doesn't sound that way with PS3. They only have 400,000 ready for North America at launch, and only 100,000 for Japan. And with it being Christmas most of those will be gone through pre-orders.

Same with xbox 360, some people that preordered them months ahead of time for the November launch still didn't get them until January or February of the following year.

I'd never buy a launch unit anyway, seeing as how they tend to be the ones full of bugs.

I just reserved mine. Total was about $635. Depending on the going ebay rate, I may sell it or i may keep it.

where were you able to do this at?

you guys are trippin if you think you're going to get a ps3 a few weeks after it's released. sony does that shit on purpose...they will be very scarce...

theyve delayed the release until march in europe.. its going to be popular, unless its something really spectacular i'll be sticking with pc gaming.. been dissapointed with the 360 so far

for sale everywhere after a month? lol! i remember in november of 2004 my friend and i were driving from place to place trying to find a ps2 and you couldn't even find those little shits anywhere...and that's YEARS after they had been released. the ps3 is going to be so fucking tough to get just watch...

I got five reserved at gamestop/ebgames today. They had a grand total of six available for reservation... lmao. Had to take a few people with me to get them all reserved, fucking one per household sucked.

Today Gamestop/EBGames had a limited pre-order, they sold out within an hour at most places. Most gamestops/ebgames around here only had two per store, I found one that had six and got five reserved and paid $500.00 (100 per unit, minimum pre-order price).

Any store that is offering pre-orders will not have units for sale at launch. Find a store that isn't taking pre-orders and wait there.

Europe uses PAL, North America uses NTSC. So a North American PS3 won't work on a European TV.

Launches on November 11th in Japan.
