For the record.....

Zango claims to be """"""""""""" adware """"""""""""""""" and I am sure *most* of their users "added" something to their pc that had zango's search assiatant included with the download, even though that was not why they were downloading whatever it was they wanted. Perhaps they downloaded something so they could see a movie like the thousands of people did on myspace, and the zango search assistant was included. Perhaps "sneaked inware" would be a more appropriate term.

Having read several articles and thousands of post made by people online calling it spyware, these people did not know how zango was put on their computers, I have since referred to it as "spyware".

I have also documented everything I have accused them of doing.

To those of you who are posting about them, I advise you to stick to the facts that you can prove. I don't want to put anyone in a bad position. Remember, always cover your ass, this is a public forum.

i agree and that is exactly what they are doing. They claim to be like a SE, like google. But when people go to google they are indeed looking for search results. When someone clicks a link on my site to a sponsor I am promoting that person is not looking for alternatives. If he didn't want to see that page he would not have clicked the damn link. 180solutions uses zango to sell your traffic. They are not selling traffic they generate, they are selling traffic you paid for. You pay for it, they take it and sell it. Nice business model they get free traffic from newbies who download their crap, and the search assistant is bundled in with it, they have no idea it is there. They don't want pop ups, no one does, but yet zango tries to play it off like the person downloaded this because they wanted it. It is so obsurd it is not even funny.

They have no right to take our traffic and sell it to peope and profit from our traffic. If they want to generate their own traffic then use a damn tool bar feature for that with a search box in it. But don't pop up a page over mine when someone is on my fucking site and then try to play it off like you doing the surfer a service by providing them with alternatives... jesus christ how have they gotten away with this so long.

Will, could you bring up homegrownideo.com and let me know if Zango hijacks it? Thanks.

no i didnt get anything but these guys are very advanced with their campaigns. people can indicate when they want to do the popups, i am sure how often, etc.. it is very hard to have the same results over and over and varies greatly.

I dont have access to http://www.metricsdirect.com/ the site where they sell "keywords" but i would think if you logged in and saw your keywords or domain being bid on then you would know it was being targeted ;)

Thanks for checking, I may have to make the $100 minimum investment to keep an eye on it. We as an industry need to make a stand against not only Zango, but the persons within our industry that are tearing down our very future by short sighted things like this. I can assure you, Homegrown Cash will absolutely not accept Zango or any other adware/spyware/scumware/dishonestly aquired signups. Now to get more sponsors stepping up to the plate.
