Anyone else having issues with GFY sucking memory?

wow, I can't even keep it open on my laptop more than 10 minutes, I have to close and reload again because it is sucking the memory right out of my browser

anyone else experiencing this?

fine on my desktop, of course my desktop also has 3gb of ram, my laptop is only 768mb

Star 69 10-09-2006 06:20 PM

same shit to me! wtf?

Libertine 10-09-2006 06:24 PM

Same here, using Firefox. After a few hours on GFY, memory use gets ridiculous on this laptop. No such problems with other sites.

dakota1358 10-09-2006 06:25 PM

I thought I might be the only one experiencing that

squishypimp 10-09-2006 06:25 PM

Yeah... let a flash piece loop too long, and say bye bye to your mem.

Usually if I'm going to stay on a page for long, I'll right click and stop the flash pieces.

I'm on a mini mac, firefox, 512 MB RAM and it is fast.

Dagwolf 10-09-2006 06:49 PM

I haven't yet but I'm using some other resource hogs.. I'd better get off the board for a while I guess.

Its all the flash banners, the sig banners, buttons and bullshit

Try messing around with your cache

Vitasoy 10-09-2006 06:54 PM

Deleting your cache does seem to help for me

Jace 10-09-2006 07:10 PM

you all, it isn't like this happens on any site other than GFY

and it never happened til this latest upgrade, it has never happened anywhere or at any time before

sorry, isn't an option, I usually have a few tabs of important shit open, and if I have to close and reopen ie every time gfy sucks my memory I would lost my mind, I would rather just not open it all

dissipate 10-09-2006 07:13 PM
