For all those who followed my 'a' key issue...Dell rocks here's why!

after dealing with the 'a' key popping off and trying to fix with random household items, tape, bandaids, glue LOLOLOL.

Finally called Dell. within minutes, they gave me a tracking number and confirmation number for the problem.

Told me a tech would come to me with a brand new keyboard and fix the problem within 3 days.

The next day the tech called, the following day he arrived on time. Switched out the keyboards in 5 min. Done.

Nothing to sign, nothing to pay. Had a warranty. I was like, that's it? Thanks!

So my 'a' key is back, and I must say that after dealing in computer hell many times...

Dell reinstilled my faith that there are good companies with good service left in the world. And they make house/office calls for free!

:thumbsup

Its reasons like this why every PC I have is a Dell. On site warranty is awesome!

Yea huh. this may not be a big deal to some, but that a key issue totally was a big deal because I couldn't type right so biz was suffering.

But for them to come to me? Wow, sure beats waiting in a Best Buy line :thumbsup :thumbsup

I now promote Dell! ;)

Best is have your own computer where you are the only tech support hehe

How old was your computer?

candyflip 10-09-2006 01:05 PM

I had a similar issue with my Macbook soon after purchase. 10 minutes at the Apple Store and I was on my way with a new keyboard. If you think Dell support rocks, give Apple a shot and be even more blown away ;)
