Either at some reasonably low number (10-25) or a scheme that limits... Like, once per week to start with, once per day after X posts, etc...

a1ka1ine 07-01-2002 04:27 AM

there are lots of people with uner 1000 posts that arent newbies.. and lots of people that are! its so hard to tell..

most idiot newbies can't seem to grasp the idea that this forum DOES have a seach function for all their stupid newbie questions ever asked. there are few better boards where newbies can go hold their hands with eachother. i also think its pretty funny when someone finds this board around march or april 2002 and can find time to post 3000 times. seems like most of the new posts i see are spam or questions about sponsors(which by the way could have been answered with the search function)

nocostporn 07-01-2002 06:28 AM

it would make sense that you need 10 posts to start a new topic...at least there wouldn't be drive by spammings

500 and up dought people are newbees. I think 50 is a good number for letting people post topics.

Theo 07-01-2002 11:55 AM

The number of posts on a board doesnt reflect the degree of knowledge and experience.

kronic 07-01-2002 12:21 PM

I'd say something like 100 unless, the person is sponsored in by someone that already has submitter status. As was stated alot of us who aren't newbies have less than 100 posts, but might have something relevant to say. If newbies get sponsored in, it would be apparent that they have connections within the industry. Not to mention it would be interesting to see who sponsored who in :)

Seems - not Seams... unless you mean the joins (seams) in the fabric of your clothing.

Vain - not Vane... unless you are talking about wind vanes

When should people be allowed to post ? How about when they prove they can spell.

FATPad 07-01-2002 12:42 PM

Bad idea. The people who know something and aren't allowed to start a thread won't stick around. The retards who don't know shit will simply fill up threads with useless crap to increase their post count so they can start a thread saying "HI! TELL ME EVERYTHING YOU KNOW ABOUT EVERYTHING!"

Basing anything on post count is a bad idea.

mike503 07-01-2002 01:32 PM

if they're female, as long as they show their tits.

if they're male, as long as they show us their wife/girlfriend/other chick's tits.

TheFLY 07-01-2002 01:34 PM
