That's cool, but just FYI.. it doesn't make a difference if you get billed in mb/s or gigs.. you can peak at the same speeds.

1 mb/s = 320 gigs/month approx.

I used to be billed by mbps and my server was capped at that rate ....
Isn't that the way it always is?

Or will they bill you for your average data transfer?

you should prepay 3000 cause this way
the overusage will be cheaper

I have a computer I don't use at my house. I can set it up in an hour.
One problem tho, my connection is only 64K/s :))))))

Billing by Mbps shouldnt be a problem long as you get billed for average monthly use rather than 95 percentile. 3000 Gigs should be around 10 Mbps and you can get a good price for that - probably less than per gigabyte. You can commit to 8 Mbps or 5 Mbps and pay for extra use, which should not be much higher than the commitment rate. Your host can even cap you at 100 Mbps so you can use even that much if you wish. That's what i had done.

I would recommend AGAINST using corporate VERIO for hosting adult sites, and use a reseller who knows the language like somne here on the board.

It would be a fucking nightmare dealing with a suit or some college geek on the phone who knows nothing about tgps,cj scripts or paysites.

I have never, in my 5 years of running sites had a host as consistantly bad at customer support as CandidHosting. They were 3 weeks late setting up my server. I had to call 3 times to get my billing corrected after that. I wanted to get 13 domains with unique IP#s added to their nameserver ( I admin my own server and add my own sites, all they had to do was add them to their nameserver and give me the IP#s), that took over a week and 7 phone calls. Now some of the 13 domains seem to disappear from their nameserver every few days. I was hosting those 13 domains for my brother-in law for free, he decided that it was better to pay for hosting elsewhere than to stay with Candid for free. If you need anything done on a weekend you can forget it. Now I have 6 months left on my contract with them ( if you want a dedicated server you have to sign a 1 year contract) and I just can't bring myself to go another round with their tech support to get anything done.
Don't think that I'm just a trouble maker trying to give them a bad name. I've been with another host ( Conepuppy cyberwurx.com ) for about 4 years and have nothing but good things to say about them. Oh, and after all my problems with Candid they decided to give me a free month for all my headaches. I even reminded the salesman for them not to bill my account that month and they still did. All I can say is I hope your experiences with Candidhosting are better than mine. Their one saving grace is that the server did stay up, albeit minus a domain or 2 from their nameserver. I have 6 months left on my contract and they have told me that they plan on holding me to it.

I push a good 2500 to 3000 gigs a month, and rackshack.net has hosted me with no issues. Don't join them if you cant admin your own server. Otherwise you'll be in heaven.

have a big Tech. support in Utah, and I assume am talking with a Mormon. NO big fucking deal.. After all when

Porn.. In the Bay Area. I've was told Verio will a lot more aggressive in there pricing. You just have to talk to the
