Can any of you recommend the hosting company you use? I'm looking for a dedicated server for my paysite. Anyone out there receiving rock solid service and support? I am most interested in uptime and customer service.. then price. Will need to have movie streaming and movie download capabilities.

A paysite on cogent bandwidth is a very stupid move.
If you prefer using Level3 then dynamichosting.com
If you prefer using Verio then hosting.likewhoa.com is the way to go :)

prohosters.com serves my dedicated server and i love em to death. i run 6 paysites off it and it seems to be running very smoothly, they also are attached to verio.

cologroup.com is a good bet. Bandwidth prices are competitive, and I've been monitoring their network for a while, considering a move there, and it's been very solid.

since when do paysite owners only need hosting?

i assume he's looking for 'mission-critical' hosting...

i been following your previous posts and i suggest you should Not go into the paysites first,,, you might have a super fine paysite built,, but then what?

how are you gonna bring traffic to it?

you need to understand how to attain traffic,,, learn how to filter traffic,,, surfer traffic flow is an art,,

learn what the different types of traffic there is,, there is way to much stuff to learn that takes people years to learn,,

not saying your going to be successful,, there are many people that started with just paysite first,, they was extrememly lucky and in the right place at the right time,,,

not trying to get you down,, just letting you know its gonna be,,,

I have been studying what you've suggested for the past 6 months. I've been sending traffic to one paysite and hitting 15 - 30 SU's per day on avarage. Being in LA and having the adult contacts I do.. I am launching sites, simmilar to what has been converting for me but with better design, a bit more content and higher quality/original content. Rolling out with an affiliate program that comes with the CC processing company's software. Just shopping around for the right hosting company right now before going live in the next 2 weeks... Do you think I've missed something?

Can anyone tell me what the difference between these are? Level 3, Verio, Cogent, etc? Which is better to go with?

Im currently using Interland.com. Is there a way to find out what they use? Prolly.. just ask them. But are there any kind of tests I can run on their server to see just how fast they are? Im interested, because Im thinking of trying a different dedicated host.

I think there are many good hosting companies out there. My experience with the service of http://www.nakedhosting.com has been exceptionally good. They have an 800 number and you NEVER get a recording. They have their shit together and I've never noticed any downtime, even though they (rarely) will send an e-mail announcing a brief maintenance interval.
