75 / 25 partnership [fees included]

I'm trying to price out the partnership % for a program I'm building. Would you guys sign up for a partnership program that is 75 / 25? Webmasters get 75, my company gets 25. We take care of fees, reserves, etc. That is the ABSOLUTE percentage division--I take care of all fees, etc.

Thanks in advance,

G Sharp

If Im at the 75 % side.

Might wanna clear that up in your post. Who gets what?

Dawgy 06-30-2002 08:01 PM

thats a damn low percentage... u sure u can even cover expenses with 25% ??

FATPad 06-30-2002 08:04 PM

I always wonder about partnerships that go over 50% or 60% for the webmaster. I get the feeling that the emphasis shifts from member retention to massive upsells and cross sales to other sites.

25%? you mean somewhere like 10-15% after transaction fee's

We're looking at using CCBill, so our final cut--after fees and reservers, is around 5% or so. I'm focusing the model on volume and working on retention building tools/features.

We'll be using CCBill so everything should be transparent. If set up right, there will be no need to shave since our focus is profit through volume.

nocostporn 06-30-2002 08:10 PM

you are going to need A LOT of volume if you are only making 5% lol

True, but hopefully this thing will retain well to take care of that problem.

hyper 06-30-2002 08:41 PM

it'll take 10% to cover content and bandwidth

Brad Mitchell 06-30-2002 08:59 PM

Agreed, Hyper.

Unless they switched to whoring out the exit traffic like the per signup sponsors... then it doesn't matter how large the revenue share was on the actual site sales.

im just messing with you, let me know if you open that program and i will even sign up and promote you. but the problem is it will be nearly impossible for you to make money at that rate. if you want to do volume it will cost a lot of $ in advertising. my suggestion is to pay webmasters a good percentage for referring webmasters if you want to do volume. with ccbill 50% is good.

Thanks for all the feedback. Now I gotta get back to work on this bad boy.

Holy sheet mon! 5% is nuts. You keep $5, payout $75, and spend $20. With that amount it might be better to just promote some other sponsor.

You could pay lower (like 65%) and have bonus months. With such high payouts of 75% constantly might turn serious webmasters off because of the risk involved. With you only making 5% it sounds like the business plan has a good chance of failing due to low profits.
