Marc, I know you sounded pretty upset about what was happening with spyware and the sponsors here who obviously support it. xxxJay I don't know your stance on this, but seeing is believing.

This is in no way an attack on your guys, you are the victims here. I have zango on my computer, so do 20 million other users. When I am on your site, and I click links zango ads to several big companies here pop up over *your* ads. I just thought you would like to know. I wish someone would have told me about this years back.

Now this second one is interesting. When you click the AFF ad a sexsearch popup comes up. Then when you go click the sexsearch ad, an xmatch site pops up over it. So sexsearch stealing traffic from various, who steals it back from sexsearch. (xmatch is AFF right ?) Big cluster fuck of stealing of traffic going on, on your sites. THis is happening to all of us.

Will, little secret for you: Try encoding the stuff with a codec that isn't so new that I have to download it. I don't download codecs on other people's stuff because they are often fake outs for toolbar installs.

I do think there is more power in the instances where the same companies overwrite their affiliates codes.
As in, when you send a surfer to webcams.com, AFF, cams.com, and the like, with your affiliate code, and the popup join window you get is another affiliate code that has overwritten your referral.

we need to figure out a way where we can link to sponsors using some kind of code that can't be altered by these programs. if i recall, smokey said something about using a php script to redirect all your sponsor traffic through to avoid getting your links hijacked.

I'll do that today. I am not a video editing guy by any means. I recorded it using go to meeting, screen recording feature that saves it to wmv format. I didn't see any setting that I could change for codecs. I will get this recorded today.

Tranza, it is way more annoying for people to be stealing sales and cash out of my pocket. Get use to it, this isn't going away.

No problem, the more affiliates that realize how much this spyware shit is hurting us, hopefully the more people we will have to put pressure on the affiliate companies to stop supporting it. If they don't stop allowing spyware signups then hopefully everyone will switch to affilitate comanies that do not allow it.

Here is a video that shows a click from RabbitsReviews to Outpersonals. Kind of small, but I imagine you can get the picture of what is happening as far as overwriting affiliate codes. You should be able to note the windows at the bottom of the screen.

Actually, yes there is... there is plenty you can do. Start looking at the sponsors getting your traffic. Contact them and let them know you are not happy about it. You send more than enough hits to these people that they will pay some attention to you.

Let them know you are not happy, and potentially that you would stop promoting them if they can't control their affiliates.

There is enough that you can do.

Sad thing is when I used to work PC support I would get PCs in that were close to that bad... Usually easier to clear the drive then to get each thing to go away... :error

We have over 4000 affilaites, it gets tough to police every one, but if they are found out they will be banned.

Jay I don't think it was an affiliate of yours unless you own sex search (i dunno) or AFF which I know the answer to that one. What I witnessed and recorded on your site was when I use a zango infected computer (like the 20+ million other surfers online) when i click your links to other affiliate companies it is one big cluster fuck where everyone is jacking your traffic trying to get credit for your sales. By zango selling "keywords" to their "advertisers" when someone on zango (the site is ) bids on "cams.com" whenever that domain comes up in the zango infected computer, they will get a popup from zango over your add. So in this case they hijack your traffic. In some other cases it seems a pop under window comes up with the same exact sponsor that you were linking to. In this case the popunder window sets the affiliate cookie after yours is set so in this case sales are straight up being hijacked. Where as in the other case when you click cams.com and they pop up a sexsearch zango window, your traffic is being hijacked.
