Anyone ever successfully grew bookmarkers on a softcore site?

Is it just me or surfers only flock to sites offering free hardcore pics/videos? Drop the hardcore on your site and watch the bookmarkers drop like flies. :disgust

How important are bookmarkers to the success of a site? Only sites that rely heavily on productive traffic or what.

I?m just a newbie, but I think the idea of giving away a shit load of free porn to gain bookmarkers is stupid. Especially the large movie post sites. What am I missing?

if you started off softcore I think you'd get bookmarks... but starting hardcore then dropping to softcore is kinda stupid...why build your fanbase then change direction?!

Clothed girls can be sexy... But i think a softcore site depends a little more on the text, perhaps a story around the girl. OT cash is a nice softcore sponsor :)

There are sites like two-lips who are only posting softcore shit and getting good traffic.

I get a good ammount of my sales from softcore galleries.

Probably a shitload of traffic. Not that it would be a very lucrative traffic.

Sometimes less is more, but then again, more is less. or something.

Agreed. Changing the direction of any site will have a negative effect on vistors. It would be like all McDonalds all of a sudden selling Mexican food instead of burgers. The customer base goes to McDonalds for a certain thing... which McDonlads understands.

So instead of changing McDonalds, they opened their Mexican chain of restaurants. What the heck are those Mexican restaurants called anyways?

Damn... now i'm hungry :Oh crap

My main site (softcore) has tons of bookmarkers (where "tons" = greater than 50%). As for how many of them come back every day for updates versus those that spend money, that's a question I can't answer.

It wasn't a very established site, so the loss wasn't too big.

Growing bookmarkers on a softcore site must be a slow as fuck process. You gotta be offering something very unique, specially if the surfers know where else to get the hardcore stuff for free or else they'll see no point in keep visiting your site.

Softcore, when done right, can lead to a lot of sales rather than just putting out the hardcore stuff first.
