Need a new dedicated server

Pretty simple.. my current provider is getting out of the dedicated server biz..

I currently have a 3.2gig p4 with HT, 1 gig ram, 300 gig disk, 1500 gb transfer a month, with WHM/CPanel, a second drive for backups, 12 ips, for $189.00 a month. This was hosted at Sago Networks in Tampa, the bandwidth was OK for the most part.

Looking for similar, still with WHM/CPanel, with only the most basic management. Emergency reboots, troubleshooting assistance from time to time, mostly e-mail support questions, really.

Please hit me up or post here - I'll be checking throughout the day.

sixstringmoneymachine 10-06-2006 06:17 AM

I would check 1and1.com. They are the biggest and the best as far as I am concerned. Check out their flash "tour" of their facility and you'll be convinced!

I'm glad it worked out this way. We spent weeks coming up with this plan. Wow.. it's almost viral!!

hehe

I did not know Caro.net offered dedicated servers to the average consumer. I'm glad they do, because I work with their techs every day.

Life is funny sometimes.

You'll just give yourself a headache. He wants us to believe that he works with the techs closely and the comapny he works for does terrabytes of traffic with caro, but he won't try to go to them to get a special deal because of it. :1orglaugh

I've seen worse board spam though, it would have worked if not for you.

The thing that kills me are all the other hosting companies still spamming this thread...do they not "get" what has happened here? :1orglaugh

of course I read it.

I however do not care what the purpose was or was not , i have no reason to assume anything.

I answered a friends question to him on icq offering help if he needs it or wants it great, if it was just a bump for a sales pitch, I am OK with that too as it happens everyday here does it not ?

so why bash a guy or laugh at thinking he was busted or owned or anything like that for something that happens everyday here multiple times a day ( spamming of product or services?)

Like was said before if that was the intention at least it was more creative than hey look at me I am a sig whore, or some of the bullshit that is said here in the same manner.

and lets just say maybe he rerally did want a server from somewhere else for whatever reason of his own. why not offer the guy help?

and to go one more deeper, why would a guy set a spam thread up for ALL hosting companies to spam if he was secretly trying to spam his own host ?

kinda not so smart is it ? when we all know every post whore or hosting guy in the biz is gonna pounce on it .

have you not read the hosting company thred spams before? Everyone starts to bid and undercut each other at some point. what good is that ?

Joesho 10-06-2006 08:36 AM

sorry to make any reason or sence, I will stop now.

continue on with the owning if that is what you spenmd your day doing and are here for .

FusionX I hope that ICQ helped if any questions feel free to ask bud.

What is your problem with me?

When we met in Vegas in January I thought we got along well.

I don't understand why you would take a simple request for hosting info and turn it into a conspiracy of some type.

Owned? Jesus! You have waaay too much time on your hands.

I have nothing to do with Caro.net sales. We have a bunch of boxes there, serving sites that are seperate from AEBN's core sites. Linux stuff that Caro handles for us.

That's it.. I haven't even decided if I'll go with Caro or not, though I probably will.

Seriously dude - what is your problem?

Their current prices are great and, honestly, their support is by far the best I have ever dealt with.

:2 cents:

I don't have a dog in that fight. I don't work in marketing, I don't work with Caro except for server issues.

There's no reason whatsoever for me to spam caro.net. I get nothing out of it. I always thought they just handled corporate stuff and would have no interest in a single little personal server.

If I wanted, I could probably get AEBN to let me host a box on our own bandwidth. It's so trivial it wouldn't be a blip on our radar.

But, I keep work and private stuff completely seperate. My box, my sites, my hosting bill.

If I had a sweetheart deal, wouldn't I already be hosting with them? I've worked here for over two years. I'm currently with a reseller in Tampa.. heh.

You guys crack me up!

Nah, they've been around for a little while and are a subsidiary of a larger IT company.

Ehhhh... because it would look silly with a thread title such as:

"Need a new dedicated server - no one but Caronet is allowed to spam in my thread!"

:1orglaugh

You might want to get your reading glasses adjusted, I didn't bust you for spamming your host.

I even gave you credit for coming up with a well crafted one.

Whatever gave you the idea I have a problem? I don't care either way.

GrouchyAdmin 10-06-2006 09:41 AM

This is all well and good, but does caro.net have their own ASN?
