My boy's first wreck!!

This is every parents nightmare come true, and I'll tell you, I don't think I can ever remember being so scared in my life when I got the call he had been in a wreck. To make matters worse, as I was going to him, MY car was hit in the front end while I was at a stop sign by some old lady in a Lincoln that didn't even know she clipped the front end of my car and kept going..... Monday was a REALLY BAD day, making for a REALLY bad week.

http://kanigokreations.com/truckwrec...reck%20004.jpg

This is the end result of my son's wreck. It completely wasted my husband's truck, and you might think it wiped out my boys. It's a little king cab and my youngest son was sitting right behind my oldest son on the driver's side of the truck with his head leaning against the window. With the damage, you'd think they were hurt pretty bad, but neither had a scratch, just a little sore from the impact. So I have TONS to be thankful for this week, even though it's been a nightmare.

This was a closer call for my kids than I ever want to go thru again, and it sure taught me, even while we do hug our kids each and everyday, I'll be hugging them more now. This was just way too damn close for my blood.

See the rest of the pics here:
Fucked up Truck

And yes, before you ask, technically it was my son's fault, the kid that hit him had turned on his turn signal and was going to turn and at the last minute decided not to, but not before my son had started to pull out of the school parking lot to give this kid room to turn in.

If you haven't yet, hug your kids extra special today, you never ever know when something is going to happen and it can happen in the blink of an eye!!

MaddCaz 10-04-2006 07:29 AM

at least he's okay. These things happen to us ALL

brandadult 10-04-2006 07:33 AM

damn, sorry to hear.I am glad they are ok.

Tam 10-04-2006 07:33 AM

Yes I know, once I seen these kids were ok, even the one that hit them, I wasn't too worried about much of anything else. There were 5 kids involved in this, my boys, my son's girlfriend, and two people in the other car and it could have SO easily gone the other way, but they were all fine. Once I seen that, I was able to breathe again, but it is still scarey as shit looking at it knowing what could have happened to them.

TurboAngel 10-04-2006 07:35 AM

Oh my hun, I haven't seen you around in so long. I'm glad everyone but the truck is ok. I can't even imagine how that feels. Give hugs to the kids for me.

:wetkiss :wetkiss :wetkiss

PS. you can hit me up on ICQ every now and again!:winkwink:

L0stMind 10-04-2006 07:38 AM

This whole damn year has been upside down for me.... SongRider has had gallbladder surgery and waiting to get hernia surgery, has gone thru testing for sleep apnea, has to have his wisdom teeth cut out of his head.... and god knows what all. Kids have been sick as hell, strep throat, flu, and about every stupid virus ever invented..... I have been working my fool head off on every little thing I can find to do and then some.. was hit by lightning not once but TWICE this year......

SOMEONE IS OUT TO GET ME!! Or as I like to look at it, my karma must not be TOO awfully bad since I am grazing by on every little thing without major injuries involved........ if I look at it any other way, I think I'd lose my mind. LMAO

Lostmind, thanks hon..... they are ok. I thought my husband was going to come unglued, that truck was his baby, but he was so great about it, my son is still alive, even AFTER he wrecked his dad's truck..... :1orglaugh :thumbsup

carol.prime 10-04-2006 07:46 AM

There's nothing really more frightening than losing the one you loved the most.
Glad that your kids were not harmed inspite of the damage.

crockett 10-04-2006 07:46 AM

you should blur out your license plates before you post stuff on the net.

Grapesoda 10-04-2006 07:48 AM

Holy shit, she is lucky!!

I am thankful almost that they were in the truck, his car, thel ittle Neon would have been a totally different story I am afraid since it sits so much lower to the ground. His car had a bad tire on it and he was taking his dad's truck so he could get the tire fixed after school..... so I am a little thankful it was the truck and not his car. It's a klunker, but it is a car, so he's happy with it. lol

SinSational 10-04-2006 08:09 AM

good to hear everyone is ok.

killerkay 10-04-2006 08:32 AM

good hes ok

LiveDose 10-04-2006 08:34 AM

Jeez with that kind of day I'm glad you all made it home safe...

MyNameIsNobody 10-04-2006 09:03 AM

have them do a check up so they don't have whiplash or anything. They might not notice anything now but in 1-5 years from now the symptoms might show and then it's to late.. better safe than sorry!

Sosa 10-04-2006 09:14 AM

glad they are ok,

Deraj 10-04-2006 09:15 AM

I would spank him and take away his birthday if I were you :2 cents:

Martin 10-04-2006 09:30 AM

Yeah I wiped out last Saturday Morning when it was raining out and drove into a pole head on. I ate the air bag. My truck is a write off. Funny thing is mine is Black Pick Up Ford Ranger.

Nahh, we didn't do any of that. He just has to get a job and pay for anything that needs to be paid for involving this situation, damages, insurance hikes or anything like that. I am just grateful he is ok. :)

Martin, we should put a ban on ALL black trucks..... huh? How did the airbag taste? Did it need salt? lmao

LOL.. I want to replace the airbag in my BMW with a Blow up doll... that way if I ever get into a serious accident, I have something to look forward too! :1orglaugh

And the other person can get a nice chuckle out of it as well.. maybe talk someone into taking the blame for the accident :thumbsup

E$_manager 10-04-2006 10:03 AM

I am glad everybody is alive in your family. Car is just a thing.

THAT would be fucking hilarious... I'd almost pay to see thelook on the cops faces on that one..... rotfl

Christie, that's my thinking. Trucks can be replaced,my kids cannot. As long as they are ok, that truck could explode for all I care. :upsidedow :1orglaugh

Up close and personal it does, the cop told me how very lucky those kids were. It is smashed all the way into the frame on the driver's side..... the frame is what stopped it. The door is smashed into the front seat and won't open.

I hope this week still ends with great things for you, pal.

Rochard 10-04-2006 11:15 PM

Thankfully your kids are okay.

When I was about sixteen I took my dad's motorcycle out after school without permission - I had never driven it before. Sure enough, less than a mile from the house I laid it down. I was okay, got the bike home on my own, but Mommy called Daddy. I was waiting for him in the garage like a good boy ready to get my punishment. My father was a large and rater angry man. He walked into the garage, looked at me without saying a word, smashed what was left of the fairing with his bare hands, and then walked past me.

To this day he hasn't said a word about it to me.

tony286 10-04-2006 11:17 PM

Boy were you ever lucky... yikes. But I bet you never did that again, did you? lol

I was very proud of how it was handled here at home.... my kids have the greatest Dad I have ever seen. He didn't come unglued or anything, and doesn't usually when these serious things happen like this. He was mad, sure, it was HIS truck and a careless move on the part of my son. BUT he remembers being that age, so rather than yell and scram like most dads would do, he simply said.... "I love you, I am glad you are ok, but you have to pay whatever has to be paid to clean this mess up".. and it was over.

I finally got to speak to the kid that hit him tonight, and heard from a couple of witnesses. He was going way over the speed limit in a school zone and had his blinker on to turn..... he admitted to me he was going way faster than he should have been going. He was picking up his boss' kid and wasn't happy about it.... so that added to HIS intensity a bit. PLUS he is an Army brat, he has been in 6 accidents in the past 6 months and swears not one of them was HIS fault..... lol
