Sad, but true.

Not my idea either.

Had a great time, but the tyranny of distance and time apart obviously became too great.

Just a little disappointed that complete honesty, which we had always shared, was not the hallmark of the death throes.

Had a great time, do not regret a thing, am so thankful for the time we had together, but now ready to move forward and still be ready to love like I have never been hurt before.

I hope she finds happiness and what she seeks - the good Lord knows she gave me more than I have found previously from the others combined in my 39 years on the planet. I am forever grateful for that.

Life is good. No false smiles this end.

She was young, but for ANYONE who has spent time with me, she spoke to me like I speak to other people - she "got" me - so even though we were 10000 miles apart and could only see each other every few weeks (lucky again I get to travel so much in my life !!), we were bluntly honest about life, us, each other, ourselves and our situation.

To get an email that sort of said, "Sorry, I've been busy" etc etc, that was signed off "All The Best", was a pretty disappointing way to send a message when the truth and honesty would have been respected and understood as she well knew.

So hence, I understand and respect, but disappointment that honesty that starts within and was a hallmark of "us" was not forthcoming.

No hard feelings or regret mind you, just a sad shake of the head.

I think relationships, whatever the challenges, are about as hard as people want to make them.

Life is a pretty simple thing, just people make it difficult.

In the end, I think the biggest problem with "geographically impossible" relationships is the lack of time spent together on the "little things" that happen in day to day life, that make being part of a relationship the joy it can be - the ups, the downs, the in-the-middles - all that makes being with someone all that more special.
