Adult sponsors opposed to spyware
I think it would be great to have sponsors who are 100% against the use of spyware in their programs to post here, and definitely with your link to sign up. When I start deleting links on my sites, this is the first place I would come to look for replacements. This would give us a list of good sponsors to work with and put the others to shame. :)
What do you all think? Would such a thread be worth of a sticky status if you thought it was important enough to even have it? Missie |
Let's start here :thumbsup

This is going to be a VERY short thead

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's not how many will post in here, it's who IS going to post and who will NOT that is important. Missie |

Spyware is like CP and spam.
Here's how: 1. It is very lucrative. 2. It undermines the legitimacy of adult entertainment and brings more heat down on an already besieged industry. So, the adult companies installing spyware will reap rewards --and we will all suffer. :( |
I think the majority of sponsors are against spyware installs
|
I'm not talking about spyware installs only, but advertising via spyware as well. You can do one without the other but both methods hurt us all.

why? spyware is very profitable.

Two ways to take down spyware companies like zango, get all the affiliate companines to ban them, or hit them with civil lawsuits and they will go bankrupt... or help enact new laws, but that is a loooong shot. Our industry doesn't have much influence, maybe if some fortune 500 companines in mainstream stepped up, they could help get new laws passed. |
Good thread... All programs should take a stance against these crooks that use spyware installs to steal our sales and fuck over our surfers.

MayorsMoney doesn't support spyware! :pimp
|
so...sponsors surfing this thread, what are you doing to help stop spyware promotions?
It's all good saying you don't support it but with things like Zango nicking refs, from good webmasters - what are you doing to stop it? |

I'm new here, and I don't know all sponsors or the people on this board. A spyware thread anywhere will get my full attention. I'm not shy about speaking my mind. If I think you're stealing from me, or hurting my bottomline in any way, shape or form, I WILL call you on it. I call it the way I see it and I don't post lies. No beating around the bush with me. I ask straight questions and I want straight answers. Sometimes it's a little too strong of an approach for some but it always seems to hit home hard. And I don't need to swear at people or dish out insults to do it either. As long as the point gets across, I'll take any ban any day. In the end, my bottomline is more than worth a few posts here and there. Missie |
AdultRental.....100% spyware free
Look at our new banner! |
I found out about a new sponsor today and it smells like spyware, what do you guys think?

Maybe we need to define spyware.
I would define spyware, in part, as something that is installed without the surfers consent. Is Zango spyware? Users consent to installing it. It seems fairly above board. |

Would you really consent to installing a program that continually sends you popups all day long, every single day, slows down your computer to a crawl, and you can't remove the damned thing because you can't find it? And if you're lucky enough to remove it once, don't blink because many of them have a tendency to come right back when you're not looking. Have you been reading these threads at all??? I think I saw your name associated with the promotion of the 40 cents downloads. Do you tell your visitors that they are downloading an adware application when they visit your site? I hope you make a lot of 40 cents, because that's all you will ever see from those visitors. Missie |

His computer was not only slowed down to a crawl, but with any page he opened, the popups were neverending. No consent, no *ok*, nothing. Now - my thought is this. There are 3 possibilities: 1) One version is the one they pay webmasters .40 to take over their surfers computers 2) Version 2 the put out on P2P networks and viral sites *unbeknownst* to the end user who just blew 1k buying a computer to have it taken over by scumware 3) Version 3 which just came to mind - is one that actually goes dormant for awhile tricking the surfer into believing that he actually cleaned it - after a few months - they turn the damn things on again. I suggest you try getting infected with it and not cleaning it. See if it takes over one of your computers and if it skews your trust 'online'. |
I have had spyware on my PC, and I wasn't happy about it. The way it was hidden was an outright lie. It was disguised as something else.

Do you tell your visitors that adware is downloaded onto their computer when they are on your site or do you hide that fact from them? Missie |
People in the adult business don't like Zango because it siphons off their keyword traffic.
It's not really because they care about the well being of the surfer. Isn't that right? |

Missie,
Assuming you run an adult site, do you tell visitors than downloading adult images could expose them to criminal prosecution in jurisdictions in the US and in many other countries? ? To answer your question, Zango DIRECTLY tells the downloader that they are installing software in exchange for free downloads. Why do referring sites need to repeat Zango's disclosure? |

How does zango get downloaded on a computer from your site? Does it get downloaded automatically or is there a warning that they're about to download something? Better yet, give me your site where I can get infected with zango, I'll turn off all security programs and see the message I get, if any, when zango downloads itself. If you're so upfront about it all, what is there to be afraid of? Missie |

There is a santa clause too. That is their "official" policy. It is also bundled in a lot ofcases with other software and people do not realize they are getting it. Regardless, if it is shareware, spyware, or shitware, it is not the "downloading" part that bothers me as much as the way they hijack my sales. The "downloading" part pisses me off as a online user, the hijacking my sales part messes with my income and is what I am mainly concerned with here. So have you stopped advertising zangocash ? |

LOL was it Zango ? :1orglaugh |

See post #41. I explain the difference there of how this affects users (surfers) and how this also affects affiliates. Like Missie already told you, if you promote anything other then zango you are shooting yourself in the foot, once the person has zango on their pc you will never get another sale to those other sponsors you are promoting. you need a little education on this seriously, go read the threads here about them and then ask any questions you may have. |
normally oi get money by any means but FUCK SPYWARE & VIRUSES
