Warning on using the "whoposted" function
 

I'm seeing a ton of activity on this in the last week or so, on the contest threads. If I see the "check-bots" keep doing this, there's going to be some blocked IPs, and maybe even some user account DELETIONS. I've tried banning in the past on this, apparently some just didn't get the message strong enough.

what is a whoposted fuction? Is it a postbot-script?

its when you click on the # of replies on the first page and paste all that information

It's a page that reload faster then other for contests... People have been using it for long for contests but i guess some people coded a bot or something..

Ahhhh that old thing. To use that one for contest purposes... that's pretty old news :)

The feature is not worthless but the total post should not be there.

someone would just write a bot to add up all the posts, and honest players like myself and you would get fucked...

If you don't want the total post count there for bot/script purposes it's just to add up the individual post counts instead. Takes about 0.00051 seconds longer.

After beta got banned I'm more careful of refreshing. So I know it's not me doing it.

It doesn't help them cheat. But refreshing this constantly to check the number of posts in order to snipe a winning spot in a contest is a huge waste of server resources.

Exactly. When I see certain users refreshing every 2-seconds using programmed bots, pretty much 24-hours a day, it's time to permanently block every IP they have ever used, delete their accounts, and delete every last damn post they have. It's not fair that the loyal GFY sponsors are being ripped off on a regular basis, or that the honest GFY regulars are being ripped off at the same time. :Oh crap

Sounds like someone is automating contest tries 24/7 then? Guess they'd have to be using several different names or someone would notice this.

And it would be nice to know who they are just before banning too.

Bah screw that contest threads they are good but i realy dont have will constantly check who posted etc etc its enough to check few time and that's it.
