Why do some male performers wear condoms and others don't? Is it an actor/actress preference or is it because of a known disease that the male/female performer is carrying?

When we were producing, we were condom manditory unless it was a couple we were working with, then it was up to them.

I didn't really know that some companies made it mandatory. On most of the sites I see, they have a mix of some wearing and some not. I guess that making it mandatory would save you a lot of heartache in the long run as far as performers were concerned.

It's wise to wear one since contracting Hiv is kinda risky.

The risk of geting HIV are low. Except maybe an creampies. The real risk is getting something like herpes and spreading it. You can't cure herpes like you can the clap. By the way over 40% of black males carry the herpes virus so why these chicks do gangbangs with black dudes without condoms is beyond my comprehension.

Some companies prefer it for liability. Also, some sites get content from different places, so you might see it on some of their shoots and not on others, depending on the content providers.
A lot of times people are meeting for the first time on the day of the shoot. it just makes sense to wear one, unless it's someone you feel completely comfortable with.
It's also a matter of birth control for some.
