Gillespie 10-03-2006 11:35 AM

Amarok, but you need Linux to run it. =)

Antonio 10-03-2006 11:39 AM

I had a player 2-3 years ago installed on one of my PCs but I have no idea what was it called, I don't need an eye candy, just something simple, right now my PCs running gazillion prgrams and Winamp is stuttering

Klen 10-03-2006 11:41 AM

Try then older version of winamp which consume less resources.

woj 10-03-2006 11:42 AM

what's wrong with winamp? for mp3s it's great, or are you trying to use it to play video files?

Dirty Dane 10-03-2006 11:45 AM

Winamp is great. I still use an older version, but it doesnt require much power with the new version.

chupachups 10-03-2006 11:47 AM

Winamp is the only one I really like....

jollyperv 10-03-2006 11:51 AM

There's nothing wrong with winamp.

LiveDose 10-03-2006 11:53 AM

Just downloaded winamp onto my laptop. Seems ok to me.

Dragar 10-03-2006 11:53 AM

winamp good

vvq 10-03-2006 11:54 AM

winamp barely uses any resources... whats the problem?

TheB 10-03-2006 12:14 PM

Core is my favorite. I also like VLC, it's very lightweight and very light on options, it can play anything though.

Cyndalie 10-03-2006 12:15 PM

Winamp, lol that brings back memories!
I'm all itunes these days.

Antonio 10-03-2006 12:15 PM

got VLC, works great !!! thanks

Machete_ 10-03-2006 12:20 PM

there is a huge memory leak in winamp. I have been looking for a replacement as well, but I still testing.

SubSonic 10-03-2006 12:23 PM

another really good one is jetAudio

jetAudio burns CD's, can rip CD's, is able to play broadcasts and lots of things more.

chupachups 10-03-2006 12:33 PM

my WA is constantly using 15mb or so... whats with the memory leak? Btw, I hate FF :winkwink:

I tottaly agree :) Foobar2000 especially old version like 0.8.3Special + some plugins like Columns UI for example is very powerful player with better sound quality than Winamp (even new improved version with 24bit MP3 playback, 64bit internal precision ). I use only Foobar2000 :)
btw. same creator as Winamp Peter Pawlowski.

I take personal offense to that as I do not have a brain. Unfortunately you seem to be the brainless one. Winamp uses little to no resources. Not sure what you are talking about. :pimp

haha, chill man :winkwink:

on this PC I'm running 16 programs in 8 user accounts, plus doing some tiny Java programs compiling and executing, plus I haven't restarted the PC in probably a week, so as soon as the PC gets a bit overloaded Winamp "stutters", players that use less resources don't (like the VLC I downloaded)
