Google Adwords Shut Down Due to "Teen Concepts"

Google shut down all my ads for having "Teen Porn Concepts" content. It's the same 2257 compliant sponsors I've been running for years. Anybody else have the same thing happen?

ry0t 10-03-2006 07:48 AM

I hope not when I get it flowing.

fusionx 10-03-2006 07:52 AM

Can you post the notice you received? I'd like to see the wording.

Not doubting you at all! I'm just curious about what they said when they let you know.

Zuss 10-03-2006 07:57 AM

Happens to me all the time. Even if it's not "teen porn"

BTW, this is a review site they shut down! Here is what they said:

SUGGESTIONS:
-> Content: At this time, Google policy does not permit the
advertisement of websites that contain "Teen porn concepts". As noted in our advertising terms and conditions, we reserve the right to exercise editorial discretion when it comes to the advertising we accept on our site.

I just spoke with them and they said they no longer allow any reference to teen even if you have a disclaimer. Also, sites with pics of younger looking women or women dressed as coeds will not be allowed.

i thought you said they were shut down..lol

Halbucks...adwords still makes some money..but yeah it isnt how it used to be

brandadult 10-03-2006 08:21 AM

Oh , I am glad adwords is still running. They are getting very strict though.

rankscom 10-03-2006 09:18 AM

Our primary campaign got hit for this too.

Yep, just called them, they also no longer allow the term "Girl" to be used on a porn site. WTF!! :Oh crap

They sent me a mini-fridge that said something like "Think Cool" on it last week for my great milestone of 1 million adword hits. This new policy is the opposite of cool!!

Mefo 10-03-2006 09:20 AM

yup all words like teen, girl etc are all banned now =/

Dirty Dane 10-03-2006 09:22 AM

That sucks, but must be a plus for the other SEs?

Tom_PM 10-03-2006 09:24 AM

Also cheerleader, and anything that basically doesnt say CONSENTING ADULT FEMALE WOMAN HUMAN blahhhhhh

I *think* (I say think because they WILL NOT tell you) one of my paysites got nailed because it says "first time lesbians". Please note: a 60 year old woman can be a "first time lesbian". They've gone a bit loopy.

gooddomains 10-03-2006 09:50 AM

a little bit overprotective I would say

adultguus 10-03-2006 09:54 AM

They are just blocking all porn adwords. They do it slowly, but I think that within a year or so no porn related adwords will be shown anymore. They shut a lot of mine down too and when I asked them it's always the content (totally legal not even girls that could pass for 18 let alone younger).

Call them back and ask why GIRLS Gone Wild is allowed to advertise on Adwords then.
