That could have sucked . . . big time.
I went to go get a sandwich at Quiznos. It is on a very large and busy street (4 lanes each direction). It is pretty dark out. I am headed home and getting ready to make a left turn across 4 lanes of oncoming traffic.
I wait for the cars to go past, and as soon as it is clear I gas it only to discover some idiot in one of those electric carts for people that are too lazy to walk, towing a wheelchair entering the crosswalk! No lights, no red flags so they can be seen at night, nothing! I almost took both of them out and they had the nerve to shake their fists at me like I am the one doing something wrong. I would have been pissed if I hit them and dented my car. |
glad to see everything worked out fine
people really need to be careful when crossing the street! |
That was my cousin Ron and his wife Sue. Better watch your ass, they've been known to send out the Cripple Coalition on guys like you.

It should be a law (if not already) and enforced that to wear reflective gear when walking/riding/etc at night.

CVC 467. (a) A "pedestrian" is any person who is afoot or who is using
any of the following: (1) A means of conveyance propelled by human power other than a bicycle. (2) An electric personal assistive mobility device. (b) "Pedestrian" includes any person who is operating a self-propelled wheelchair, motorized tricycle, or motorized quadricycle and, by reason of physical disability, is otherwise unable to move about as a pedestrian, as specified in subdivision (a). Pretty sure they don't qualify. |

Because I have seen them riding their bikes in the neighborhood. |
