Over all quality.

Look at the sites of 4 years ago and look around at the sites of today. The quality has risen plus more and more people realise the value of quality.

Still a few dinosaurs hanging in there, but affiliates are getting wise throwing traffic at a site that wastes it is not the way forward and sponsors are starting to understand that when you have a surfer it's more profitable to convert, retain and then get him to come back in 6 moths than rip him off once.

Still got some way to go, but I think the biggest change is the quality of the product we deliver.

That was really just by country, I meant much more precision with dating sites, like to the city/state level. The tradeoff between slowdowns and increased conversions for me is definitely worth it though.

It has definitely improved. At home SexSearch gets it right down to my hometown (which is small with like 12k pple). Pretty impressive. With the connection we have here it says Rotterdam though while I am in Amsterdam.

The last major step forward this industry made by itself was live video. Everything positive since then has been incremental.

Blogs, RSS, etc., have come along. But when we finally got around to them, on the whole our attempts to use them have been almost embarrassing.

If you want to be really cynical, you could say that GFY and its less extreme variations are the only really new thing in the past 5 years. We seem to have turned to feeding off each other, rather than looking outwards for real growth.

In the beginning all the Pioneers started out with exclusive and quality porn. after a few years most realized no matter what you did the average retention would remain the same. pre 2000 we had alot more live houses etc. more money was spent in the beginning alot of trial and error

Like I said not much has changed other then the look and feel of the new sites to a long page format.
