I have been thinking about becoming one the last few weeks, anyone here a vegetarian ?

did it change your life for the better

madawgz 10-02-2006 05:19 PM

why batts?

whats wrong with eating cow brains in hot dogs, or bacon from a pic?

it tastes fucking great! :)

Sly 10-02-2006 05:19 PM

I had prime rib for lunch. Giving up that for tofu is the highest of sins.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 10-02-2006 05:23 PM

There are veggie burgers and veggie dogs, so you don't have to give up much but the flavor...

I was a vegetarian for 5+years. It was a healthy lifestyle. Gave it up after my wife (who is from Japan), wanted to experience an American style Thanksgiving with turkey, etc. :upsidedow

I'm not 100% vegetarian, but I don't eat beef, burgers, pork, hotdogs, bacon, etc..

I now find I actually enjoy the taste of turkey burgers more than beef.

Most turkey burgers come seasoned. My wife buys them at BJs.

donkevlar 10-02-2006 05:25 PM

I'm a vag-itarian

DaddyHalbucks 10-02-2006 05:26 PM

If you are a big meat eater, and if you drop red meat from your diet, you will lose 15-20 lbs easy in the first 60 days.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 10-02-2006 05:27 PM

If you need a good recipe for eggplant lasagna, hit me up. Good stuff... :thumbsup

I went vege when I was about 12 - my mum got pissed off and took me to McD's and waved burgers under my nose.

I sometimes think about it now for health reasons - but I like meat too much. (Dont even think about it!)

baddog 10-02-2006 05:42 PM

Not a vegetarian, but did go on a raw food diet for a while and not only lost weight, but it seems to have cured my acid reflux which was very cool.

Pornopat 10-02-2006 06:18 PM

I have been a vegetarian for almost 15 years now.
Not sure if it changed my life.
Then again....I have a lot of weaknesses..eating meat as well might have tipped me over...:)

buck naked 10-02-2006 06:22 PM

If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why did He create pork (the pig being by far the tastiest of the quadripeds)? Or, if you like, why did so many people evolve a lust for bacon?

bl4h 10-02-2006 06:23 PM

We are omnivores, which means we need to eat meat as well as plants

I don't see Muslum or Jews eating pigs, and they more about god than anyone.

shekinah 10-02-2006 06:33 PM

I tried eating only veggies but felt sick about it and stopped. I thought it could help to reduce my weight but duh nothing happened. It's better to eat fruits instead.

whatever you say.

Weve been eating meat for hundreds of thousands of years. You need a balance of both meats and vegitables to get the proper nutrients. Sure you can get it from veggies and other soy shit, but you better be keeping track iof your intake

MaddCaz 10-02-2006 07:51 PM

ridikuloz 10-02-2006 07:54 PM

die vegetarian scum!

Richard - Triplexcash 10-02-2006 08:05 PM

I have been doing the vegetarian diet for about 6 months now. I have splurged and had a steak about 3 times. I have never felt more healthy! Cheese, beans, tofu, milk and eggs a couple times a week for protein.

Of course, I'm a little lucky that I have a full time live in maid that loves experimenting with vegetarian cookbooks I bring home ;)

I recommend giving it a shot!

Good luck!

E$_manager 10-02-2006 08:16 PM

no. It is too hard to be a vegetarian. The only smell of bbq can blow your mind so that you will forget about all those carrots.

swami 10-02-2006 08:43 PM

I've been a vegetarian for over 30 years.
Ask a surgeon who he would rather operate on, a body full of rotting carcass's or the clean fresh smelling insides of a carrot muncher?

Balance and history eh?
Men has NEVER eaten as much meat as in this century.
Last century and before it was custom to eat meat once or twice a week.
Where is the balance?
fyi...everything you get from meat you can get from veggies and soy shit as well. Well almost everything. You will have to deduct a whole lot of nasty diseases.
Information is power.
:)

everestcash 10-02-2006 08:48 PM

not me
i love meat & would rather die than become a vegeterian

CuriousToyBoy 10-02-2006 09:05 PM

I am a vegetarian.

I only eat meat from animals that eat grass or other flora.

;-)

I don't have any actual proof but I'm going to guess the reason man eats more meat today than any other time is because its available. Man also eats more cheese and more sugar today than ever before. The only thing that tells me is food is no longer a scarcity and even the poor can get good food that was never thought of before, which is true. :-)

About 50 years ago many parents would put an orange in the stockings on Christmas. It was a real treat, oranges were pretty rare and very expensive. Today, that almost seems absurd. I can buy an orange for 80 cents every day of the year. Even the homeless have 80 cents. :-)

sniperwolf 10-02-2006 09:47 PM

i thought of that sometime... but when i tasted those veggie meat... me and my sistah ended up ordering another course.. :(

cess 10-03-2006 01:45 AM

<---vegetarian for about 6 years

Ryan St. Germain 10-03-2006 06:15 PM

I'm a vegitarian, and so are a lot of people i know. I was a while ago, and fell of the wagon. Now that I'm back to it, I definately feel healthier.
I will say that you have to be smart abbout what you eat, no matter what. I knew a 300lb vegetarian, who couldn't understand why she was so fat, but Vegetarian pizza is not a healthy diet, hehe.
If you go veg, do a bit of reading first, so you can know/understand what you have to do to have a balanced diet.

yes, same here.

not 100% vegetarian but i limit my meat to lean poultry, and fish (tuna, salmon).

and other than that almost 100% "raw" unprocessed foods and no baked goods.

cured all heart burn, lost 25 lbs, and i now have swimmer's build. (i do exercise).

LaoTzu 10-03-2006 06:52 PM

There are plenty of studies out there proving that a vegetarian diet will increase life expectancy. Google it. Of course there is speculation that this is because the vegetarian demographic is also more health conscious than others.
So... smarter and healthier. I'd say we win.
