Got Me A Police Raid Going On Right Now :-)

Here I was minding my own business and just flew in from "paradise" here and drive up to the house and got about 30 guys hovering outside with TV cameras and others obviously press crews. I get out of the car and they all pounce on me like some celeb.

I'm not partial to "instance interviews" so brush past them into the main gate to be met with hooded cops armed to the hilt. Anyways... surely this is not a porn raid?? :1orglaugh A cute latina cop in a hood asks "What is your business here?" By the strength of the force it "could" have been a fatal incident and asked her if anyone has been hurt? Nada problemo - just some guy committing stupid offenses (dunno exactly what yet). I tell her I live here and we have very polite chat and no problems. The cops are still combing the area and still got about five TV crews and the press at the gate, so will leave em all to cool off before going out (all they want is some "story" about someone I hardly knew - and I ain't talking)

Hell.. ya can't go anywhere, but some crap breaks out :pimp

Na... The police here are as good as gold - nada problems. They get their sleeves rolled up to help if there is a problem (and stuff like the adult biz is not a problem - they would prefer watching some porn movies instead of messing with SOC shit).

I thought there was some serious stuff going down when I got here (and possibly some injuries of guards or something), but everyone is fine. Just heard from the latina cop - it's just some fraud stuff some US guy was up to and ripping folks off (Wondered where that $140K BMW came from :winkwink:)

Na L-Pink :winkwink: It's strange here - the cops are *very* OK folks and always very polite and no "attitude" - totally different to industrialized countries. There is an officer heading this enquiry and he's a really nice guy.

Did you by any chance got to take some pics of that cute latina cop?

Damn good idea Ray :winkwink: There are three of em and all OK!

Asked WTF they were wearing hoods for (Hell - I didn't know - sounds a bit heavy) and the removed their hoods and got to say they did look OK and *very* cute.

The bad news is I left all the photographic gear down in "paradise" so missed the photo opp. Better check if they want to do some "private work" for $4/hour :1orglaugh

Sure is fuzebox. Most of the TV/press have moved off now, but still got an OIJ Major and cop crew combing everything they can find (scraps of paper blah) and trying to track movements.

There is obviously a money scam (smelt something a few months ago), and a great interest in the movements of a new BMW, but smell it's more than just car theft to warrant this amount of attention. Apparently it's not drugs related (according to one of the girl cops) - so hell knows, - will prob get the fuller story when they call round later after the cleanup.

:winkwink: Odd tho it may sound, the cops are for hire in their spare time and the rate is around $4/hour. Dunno what the actual wage rate for a cop is here - but it's not much and $4 is probably a rate they would appreciate. They can be good for tracking/checking stuff and as guards if needed - it's handy to have "streetwise" help on the ground sometimes.

Flush it??? DUH? :winkwink:

Sadly there are no "prohibited substances" around - gimme a cigar anytime. Only times that stuff may be around is when "US govt officers" come for a vacation - they seem to like some weed to relax and little chance of them being cuffed - there's an "understanding" :)

MaDalton 10-02-2006 02:52 PM

and i thought they might have arrested my special friend Lutz :1orglaugh

Shit.. you familiar with Luztie MD?? :)

He's still stuck in DR trying to tell tourists he owns a hotel and would they like to buy it? He's just getting deeper into the hole he dug for himself. If he manages to get an airfare out of DR, chances are he'll head south, then maybe west - and into the hands of some folks who want to chat with him.

Doubt he'll take a flight back to Florida. He must have scammed in excess of $2 mill from folks so far, - but the full extent may never be known because some of the "victims" don't want to talk much - they are "weathly ladies with reputations" who would rather forget their experiences with Lutzie :)

Yep.. total scammer. He used to claim (still does) that he is a banker. The truth was he worked as a clerk in a bank for around two months until he was caught dipping his hand into the safe and sacked (without charges). He then went on a career befriending wealthy women and scamming money out of them (think one of them parted with almost one mill before Lutzie just disappeared out of her life) - then he did some card fraud over a time (mainly in Florida). He's still dearly loved and wanted in a few US states and as far south as Argentina :)

I just had the cops, a judge and some judicial support staff in here - apparently we got another scammer and the reason for the raid. They arrested all of the occupants of the house earlier today on fraud charges - dunno what level and doubt they know yet, but they did indicate it was likely to be a substantial money value. Apparently they defrauded a fair number of people. The cops have their evidence now, but just looked around the house - there are reciept books all over with varying headings blah - typical dumb fraud stuff.
