Starting a website

How many picture and movie sets should you have before opening? What is expected the bare minimum if you joined as a surfer? And no, feeds do not count.

if you go by industry standards .. you need 3 or 4 pictures
10 crappy feeds and you're good to go :D

Well, I'm doing reviews and I think 35 should be the norm. Anything less than that, you will get a shitty score.

Depends on the type of site. What type are you interested in?

ALL sites. Why should it matter what type of site it is?

The customer is paying for X amount of money for X amount of expected content no matter how expensive it is to produce.

Expected by whom, the consumer?
If the tour nor the marketing material is not misrepresenting the sites amount of material, what would be the expected amount?

If it is a hard to find niche with very few sites devoted to it, would it not be ok for that type of site to have less initial content than say a general teen site?

In my mind I would presume that a site devoted to say Vaseline lubed pantyhose foot jobs would require fewer updates as well as less initial content and possibly a higher or equal price than "Tabby the teen who is shedding her inhibitions and paying her way through college or whatever".

I would also hope review sites take that sort of thing into question. Sometimes quality is more important than quantity.

Totally agree, but when you run a normal site which isn't an extreme fetish and you only have 15 sets of custom content. That site sucks.

There are different expectations from customers:

solo sites
niche sites
mega dvd sites
hard to find original content sites
general mega pass sites

Each one has different expectations from members. The rarer the content the less there needs to be. Selling everything at a fixed pricepoint is foolish. We are selling commodities. :2 cents:

I'm sure someone will have the balls to answer this question eventually.

I tend to agree, but there again, it can come down to the site it's self. if it is a single girl site, she add's new sets every other day or so, then she is just getting started. As long as she does about 3 cam shows a week, the guys are going to feel like they are growing with her and her site.

Member since type of feeling.

I would use a scale for initial exclusive content.
Extreme fetish: .25 videos per dollar of membership.
Smaller fetish: .5 videos per dollar of membership.
Fetish: .75 videos per dollar of membership.
Solo & shot nowhere else: 1 videos per dollar of membership.
Solo: 1.5 videos per dollar of membership.
Smaller niche general: 2 videos per dollar of membership.
General: 3 videos per dollar of membership.

i dunno - i've seen fairly big programs like Naughty America start sites with 6 movie 'episodes' - others with 8 or 10 -
