Which Instant Messenger?
 

I like ICQ for webmastering because it's just like sending an email but better. The only grip I have about it is a lot of msges get lost, and some authorization I ask for someone they don't receive it. These bugs are hella annoying, especially if you're behind a firewall, good luck.

I would like to see more webmasters use MSN, it has lots of downtime late at nite but is usually pretty solid.

can't really say... they all have terrible flaws. For example... MSN.. well it's microsoft and it's annoying as hell using it in WinXP

MSN is good, doesn't take up all that memory that ICQ does, but doesn't have a history log...

download msn plus to get a history log as well as a shitload of other features

i use icq - the advantages outweigh the bugs and it alsd has a history log

i also use aol - somr\e ppl i deal with don't use icq.

ICQ just rocks... one of the most precious features is the SMS ability...

btw, anyone want to know how to get rid of those that were applied in version 2000 and later?

use trillian. you have 4 IM options to choose from, one consistent interface to them all, logging on all of them, and more. not really much any of the real IM clients provide that trillian can't do.

i use trillian. i seriously dont know 1 person outside of the webmaster world that uses icq, all my real life friends use aim or yahoo.

I know quite a lot of ppl using ICQ... since I was one of the first to have permanent internet access I told all friends to use ICQ...

i prefer AIM... its more user friendly and it isnt too hitec

all the programmers and tech people i know - and i know a lot - use icq. it's the best (original or trillian mode)

Finally just got around to installing Trillian. Best of all worlds it seems and so far recommended :)

no fucking way ... would ANY webmaster in their right mind use a chat product developed by a porn company, a porn company that could be a competitor? if they have the knowledge to develop the software then could be logging chats and keeping details off all other kinds of shit.

FUCK THAT!

it'd be like a bunch of terrorists using a chat program developed by the fbi...

it defeats the whole purpose


stick to mainstream programs, don't use a program developed by a fellow porn company (which will probably bombard you with WEG Cash adverts anyway)
