what's your favorite western or war movie?
The wife and kid are traveling for two weeks. I am building a list of dvd's to rent for undisturbed viewing.
What are your favorite westerns or war movies? I used to watch these every weekend as a kid and want to have some fun here. Here is a partial list of what I'm considering: The Great Escape The Guns of Navarone Rio Bravo The Magnificent Seven Jeremiah Johnson Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid The Longest Day Anzio Patton In Harm's Way What else do you recommend? Thanks, -arvan |

This thread cannot go any further without mentioning Peckinpah's "The Wild Bunch".
some of his other westerns are incredible too: "Ride the high country" "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" "Wild Bunch" set the standard though by which others are judged. Just saw "The Proposition" and liked that - western with an aussie accent. |
One Western I haven't seen mentioned is "Silverado" and that's definitely a great movie and worth checking out.
