Stupid windows, can't do anything,

Well you can't paste an html file or any file into 1000 folders simultaneously so I spent 20 minutes doing that
Then also the taskbar always pops when I don't want it to

That is handy though, put the task bar on the left and have it on auto hide

Also windows can't manage memory for shit but I do see 5-11 days of uptime often

godisdead 10-02-2006 01:02 AM

Then don't use it. :)

Why do people constantly blame the operating system for their own ineptness? A simple command line at the cmd prompt will do the trick...

Say in C drive you have a folder named test3, and in that folder you have 5 sub-folders called t1, b2, c3, h4, k5. Also in C: you have a file called test1.txt. Typing the following at the command prompt:

for /R C:\test3 %a in (.) do copy C:\test1.txt %a

will copy the file C:\test1.txt to folder C:\test3 and any sub-folder in C:\test3 (so now t1, b2, c3, h4, and k5 will have test1.txt in it).

type some lines in VB and you'll be done within ~2 minutes.

Exaxtly. People just don't know how to do things and then blame the OS. You can't expect MS developers to make a button for every task that they can think of.

Come on now being able to paste into several folders at once is something they should have included in Windows 2000 - it's not for idiots who play video games, it's for business!

Klen 10-02-2006 04:49 AM

For automated tasks best is use macro programs or simply batch commands.

Try the Ubuntu 6.06 LTS distro of Linux.

Great alternative to Windows.

E$_manager 10-02-2006 06:24 AM

KRL 10-02-2006 06:24 AM

This is a really cool concept also. A web based OS called YouOS.

Fully Functional Online Demo For YouOS

I am doing fine with my Windows. If i ahve problem, i check the system and there are viruses. You have to reinstall it still may be once a year or half year.

MrMaxwell 10-02-2006 02:10 PM

Don't you know that Billy will zap your hard drive for using DOS :) :1orglaugh
Well he sure has gone out of his way to HIDE it from us so I forgot to learn it
Sorry about that,
It looks like in this case I am a victim of my own ignorance
That does not happen often

MrMaxwell 10-03-2006 07:01 PM

I changed my mind,
Windows ought to allow you to do something so simple through the gui
DOS isn't windows!

PS: How can I have multiple files with the same name?
Another stupid windows inability grrrrrrr
