I'm not a good liar at all which is why I rarely do it... (oh, and because it's unethical too, :1orglaugh ). Anyhow, my boyfriend has always been great at random, pointless lies. Just last week, he convinced his family visiting from Canada that we didn't have McDonalds around here. We live in the suburbs of Philly and actually have a McDonalds walking distance from us.

So, are you a good liar? Do you lie for fun or more for personal benefit? I think silly lies are alright, but if you lie to get ahead I probably don't want to be your friend.

when I was kid I was a big liar.

Now I almost never lie (honestly don't recall last lie), mainly because hiding the truth won't benefit me in any shape or form, a lie cannot alter the reality.

There's all kinds of lies. My wife is particularily good at inducing guilt by accusing me of lying by omission. Meaning I don't tell the truth. Hell, I just don't talk much, of course I don't tell the truth if I don't say jack shit. :1orglaugh

I am a HORRIBLE liar. First of all, I'm not creative enough to come up with anything good. Second of all, if you look at me, you can tell immediately I'm lying. I've always thought lying was one of the worst things you can do (which encompasses cheating, embezzlement, etc.) and it's just not something I WANT to do and therefore never perfected it.

Liars are right above child molesters in my book.

"Liar" is such a negative word. I prefer to think of myself as possessing the extraordinary ability to be "extremely convincing" if needed. :1orglaugh :winkwink:

i think i'm a good liar, but i think it's really only because i do it so rarely that anyone who knows me has to assume i'm telling the truth since i'm generally quite an honest person.

I lie only when it is possible to believe in what i say. Othrewise i start to lie and then laugh.

have u ever come accross a pathological liar? i have known a couple. really though... people who just lie automatically every day when it is completely pointless. sometimes i swear they don't even realize they are lieing and actually believe the stuff that comes out of their mouth themselves. one of these people was an x gf... that was a fun one.
