GURU Question: Password Protect external hard-drives?
GURU Question: Password Protect external hard-drives
I have an external drive that I do adult work on... (it runs NTFS) How can I password protect that overall drive...so that when a person would try to unhook it from my computer and try to connect it to theirs.... it would prompt them with a password to access it? There must be a way---this must be a common problem for many people. Kind regards and thanks for your time! |
I have an APC Biopod (fingerprint) thingie. I use it for stat passwords etc, but I believe you may encrypt files/folders with it aswell. Check on ebay - its well worth the 50 bucks.

Download TrueCrypt and encrypt the entire drive. You will need a password to unlock it. In the case it's ever seized, it'll take em a long while to figure out wtf is on it :winkwink:
