Best Laptop for Heavy Duty Stuff?

Been looking at that new Core 2 Duo processor, what's the best deal for a heavy duty laptop, as in replacement of desktop, must be able to handle games etc.

Acer looks good, Dell and Alienware are both expensive for what they provide. New Sony VAIO looks real good too.

Outdated processor and only 1GB RAM and still over 3K? Way overpriced. I'm looking at RockDirect now, they have awesome laptops. Any other tips on gaming laptops?

IBM stands for durability.. but maybe overpriced.
I saw a Samsung the other day and was very impressed. Makes a nice desktop replacement.

I love my sager, it plays most games as well and is almost 3 years old now. Nice big 17" screen also. powernotebook.com I think is where you can read more about them

I found my 17" too big to carry around and the battery life not good but you will be able to find a better video card on 17" laptops.

With my 14" laptop the video card is not that good but i get 8 hours out of my battery on the duo core processor and its easy to carry around.

I have a Toshiba M65 from last year and it handles anything I throw at it.

P M 2.0
2 GB DDR2 RAM
100 GB HD
ATI x600 128 MB
17" WXGA

I'm not a huge gamer, but this computer lets me carry practically my entire office with me wherever I go.
