BREAKING NEWS: I don't care of some overpaid athlete offs himself

He failed. It was a cry for help.

Cry me a river. Life is soooooo hard for him.

Next time try a shotgun to the head or a leap from a 50 story building if you want to get the job done. :2 cents:

fallenmuffin 09-27-2006 07:57 AM

I'm with you.. only maybe not so harshly lol. I really don't care.

Live in the spotlight for your whole career and worry about what could happen to you, then put that shotgun in your mouth. DirtyWhiteBoy seems to be a fitting name as it seems you come from a trailer park. May need to switch to dirtywhitetrash. :pimp

In 2003 (the last year they have national stats), there were 31,484 SUCCESSFUL suicides in the USA alone.

That is 86 per day, 1 every 17 MINUTES!!!!!!

Those people did not make the news and they were SUCCESSFUL at it. What about them? Nobody cares.

I know this asshat as much as I did those 31,484 people who saw it through and did not quit on themselves.

Yet again, you must misunderstand american culture. Americans only want to see celebrities on TV. Basically what your saying is that people who commit suicide need to be recognized, sorry got to disagree with you there. Its news media, they look at what is going to get ratings. Just look at all the posts on the board about this. America is all about celebrities.

Boooo-fucking-hoooo.

That was a life he wanted to live (in the spotlight).

He is weak. He is a quitter.

Proudly born and raised in Kentucky, fuck you very much. Have had 2 cousins, one uncle-in-law, and one friend go out the easy way. ALL quitters.

Not really a sportsfan as much as a non fan of morons. As you seem to be posting that you don't care if someone commits suicide because they excel at a sport and get paid well. I don't play sports and make millions a year but i'm not bitching that it was on TV now am I. Just trying to say, if you post the number of suicides in america each year and say you don't care about one that is a sports star, then do why even post stats? :pimp

Nope.

I'm saying who fucking cares?

Look.... if someone does not care about their own life, why should I care about it?

You wanna opt out on me, go for it.

Sure, it's a shame someone gets to that point, or that many of them do die, but they did so by their hand. Not mine.

Celebrity or not, that is no excuse. That is the excuse of a weak Celebrity.

NATURAL SELECTION.

Only the strong will survive. Let the weak people fall to the side.

mike217 09-27-2006 08:13 AM

Have any of you people ever lived in the spotlight that athletes live in. They make a shitload of money, but do a lot of work for it. Not just sitting on their asses jerking off. Get a net worth over 20 million and be on every sports show and then tell me to go cry a river.

Boo hoo indeed.

If you don't care about it, then why the hell did you start a thread about it. Let me know when you put the barrel in your mouth, i'll have a parade for you instead of a funeral. Celebrity is not an excuse, but you obviously have no idea what kind of pressure is put on these people.

OK, I will feel sorry for him because he worked so hard to be worth so much. I take it all back.

Please find it in your heart to forgive me.

Actually I'm pretty sensitive to suicides and have a first hand understanding of depression. That's why I find you blaming his celebrity status and getting so upset you start calling names funny. You came off like a sportsfan, and sportsfans amuse me for a variety of reasons.

I know SEVERAL pro athletes who play for the Cincinnati Reds and a few for the Bengals. Fuck, I even used to work out at the same gym as Pete Rose, spotted him several time a week (back when I was in shape and not such a turd)!!! NOT ONE of them cries about how hard they have it. They fucking love every second of the hard work they have to do, and love the game and the payoff.

he should be glad he got out of poverty and even if he is no longer a star or no longer plays hes still set for life. im sure many of his friends would give anything to switch with him.

Bro, I went through a period of depression years back. I feel ya, but at no time did I ever honestly think that ending my life would solve anything. You are still here as well, so I'm sure you are the same.

Would love to hear why you think celebrities and sports stars don't get depressed like everyone else in this world. I too have first hand understanding of depression and if you go to a psychologist and ask them about it they will tell you stress is a major factor for depression. If you have a first hand understanding of depression then you know that anyone can have it, especially a sports star. Perhaps you could elaborate on why you find sportsfans funny. I find people with assanine posts funny.

Not many people have it as rough as a professional athlete, except for maybe those poor rockstars. :sadcrying

Thats good that you can name drop. I can do that as well. I live in Orlando, and frequently hang out in the VIP with Shaquille O'neil. He's not depressed either. My point being, there is more stress on celebrities and athletes than any normal person can imagine.

Why don't you take TO's life on for a while escorpio and see how you handle it. Don't think you'd last too long. Getting blow and having your dick sucked is great, but what do you do when you actually want a real life. Not possible when your a celebrity in the news. Look at any of them.

I didn't say they don't get depressed, but to say celebrity status is stressful and a cause I don't buy into. "Especially a sports star?" Please.

Sportsfans are funny because of their fanatical devotion to grown men playing a game and the way they get so worked up about it.

Living a normal life when you are a celebrity is entirely possible. Do you think celebrity just happens? It's manufactured. You can step off at anytime. Most people get pushed off before they want to.

Perhaps if you were in a stressful postion such as a sports star and not an adult webmaster, you could understand. No matter how much money you have, it isn't going to make the depression go away.

mike217 09-27-2006 08:33 AM

Good thread. Gotta love the conflict here.

Of course it's entirely possible. Dave Chappelle turned down 50 million to do another season and went home to Cincinnati. Smart man, he couldn't deal with the spotlight anymore. Some people just get more depressed and sucked in than others.

im a huge cowboys fan but if i had to look at bill parcells tits all day id swallow a bottle of pain pills too...

on the other side.. i think TO had bad reactions to pain meds before, they can make you loopy as hell. im alergic to a couple non-narcotic pain meds... make you hallucinate like a mofo. id be suprised if he REALLY wanted to harm himself in any way.

Anyone who fails at suicide is completely useless and i have 0 respect for. If you want to commit suicide you do it, there is "tried" part.
