software to encrypt the whole harddrive?
 

Hi,

I'm looking for some software that would let me encrypt the HD of my computer. Should be something that asks for a password before the OS is booting and not something that will only encrypt certain files or directories

any ideas?

Securestar has some great products but when you encrypt your drive like that the performance is usually going to suck.

I used to work at a big audit company and they had all their laptops encrypted.
The performance of these wasn't that bad even though.
