XP IE 6 view source problem
when I first installed IE6 with XP the 'view source' option under the edit menu worked fine, as well under the image properties the file size of an image would be shown and I could save images as they appeared on my screen. Now I can't, and several other people I know have the same problem. We think it's a setting a webpage has somehow done to us from some asshole trying to prevent people from copying his images. I cann't seem to be able to reset it though without doing a complete re-boot?
Anyone on here experience this? |
Same Problem with Win2k - IE6
Fucking annoying. Haven't figured it out yet. |
i had that exact same problem.... but now it's fixed... and I have no fucking idea why but it was damned annoying :(
Sorry I can't help! Brad |
I have a similar problem with Windows 2000
try this in Explorer, go to Tool --> Interent Options -->Delete Files and then check the box to delete all offline files to clear your cache. Once I do this, I am able to view source and save any images, too. |
Steve gave You the correct solution.
This bug appears both in Win2k and XP - with IE6 Deleting all temporary internet files from time to time prevents this from happening. I hop it will be fixed in IE7 - but I am sure another big will occur then :) |
it's different on all pages. but if u save the page to your desktop you can view the source. for the pictures whenever it wont let me save it, i jsut right click and hit email picture, and email it to myself lol
sucks ;/ |
Yep clear the browser cache I have posted this 2 months ago.
If you set the cache size to max 50Mb the problem will not return. DynaMite :2 cents: |
Real men use opera

what exactly are 'offline files', as opposed to temporary files? are these webpages that I have actually downloaded, or another stage of temp files, as in created automatically?
|
delete cache, delete temporary internet files, reboot. fixed. this also fixed the right click saved as .bmp ;)
|
if knoqueror would make html look right i could get away from freakin windows and use a decent os
|
Opera 6 just rules... the "F12" button is one of the coolest features it offers! Why would I want to use MSIE anymore? Or even Netscape?
