im at that point now in my life where Im thinking & feeling "i dont wanna sell porn for the rest of my life". those feelings/thoughts started when I was doing some 3-D designs for an online game (mostly as a hobby). but then i found myself not wanting to do the porn thing when I was done with the hobby thing...i started to really dread working every morning with porn. i never felt that way before. its weird. :Oh crap

so i did alot of thinking, and im going to go back to school for something completly different...nursing. I start my classes in January and I can't wait! :) I'll still be in the adult industry though, but I think my days of slinging porn are numbered, since my schooling will be done in under 2 yrs. The one thing i will REALLY miss is the freedom that comes with working at home. There's nothing better than that!!! That and taking several vacations a year, Im really gonna miss that. :sadcrying

Have any of you ever thought "theres more in this life that i wanna do"? I know ALOT of webmasters have "real" jobs on the side, thats why Im asking.

what kind of nursing gig can you get with less than two years of training that actually pays anything? Nurses assistants get jack and do all the work while the RN's tell everybody else what to do.

at first i just wanted to be an adult webmaster... then I gave mainstream a shot and it was alot more newbie friendly and had alot more options and variety, so now I do both. But I love being a webmaster, can't wait to make enough money from this to quit my day job.

Transitioning from making easy real good money in porn to make jack shit, cleaning peoples asses as a nurse is going to be very hard.

I was recently offered a lot of money to get illegals to Phoenix. It's tempting but I don't want to go to jail so I'll stick with porn.

first off, the "wiping asses" comments:
those are CNA's (certified nurses assistants). They get the crappy jobs (literally! lol) LPN's are just under RN (registered nurses). they pass out meds, document progress & such, give shots, etc. They dont do the bitch work, as I call it. I could never be a CNA for a job. They do everything from give baths and clean up puke and shit, to post-mortem care. But in order to register for the LPN classes, I have pass the CNA class (under 2 months long).

The LPN course is 1 yr, full time classes.

I have considered becoming an air traffic controller... I think the stress would be better for me than 4 cups of timmy's coffee a day.

i also left the biz for 2 yrs, 3 yrs ago. its amazing going from slinging porn to working for $8 an hour lol i quit my job since i was able to pull the same paycheck from home.

i think being an LPN at a Childrens Hospital will fullfill more than selling porn lol I think its just time for a change.

ya i've thought about that too. just update the shit i have now, keep things active, pull in $500+ a month with very little work, use it as play money. :thumbsup

You probably will. Its a job. Jobs get boring, they require you to do the same thing day after day. I get bored with porn too, thats why I've set a few goals and know what I'm headed to. It helps.

this is exactly why i wanna go to school now, before i get married and pop out kids and it becomes much harder to do. ya know? to know that i am certified in something means i will always have something to fall back on. and i love that.

i dont know. no one knows if they're gonna get sick of a job. a job is a job. theres pros and cons, i just like the pro's in that field more than porn. plus, i wanna work with kids, i LOVE kids! :) they make ya laugh, smile, and probably even cry from them not being cooperative when giving them a shot and they kick you LOL but i can laugh at all that and still love the job.

i cant say the same for porn.

ANY work that is under the RN is bitch work...The RN's delegate to the LPN's which Delegate to the CNA's...If you're going to be a nurse, why not just go all out and be an RN? Or a Doctor for that matter, fuck it. Why leave to take a position UNDER anybody? You have nothing but time and a steady income..

I understand you wanting to try something different, but fuck, I can't go back to school just to come out and be in the middle class of a profession...It's either the TOP or nothing.

I love doing the kind of work that I do.. I love people in the adult business and I have got to say that most of the people I have met over the past couple of years have been amazing, great people~!!

The LPN's I know are asswiping fools. At $12 to $20 an hour I never quite understood what makes them stick around.

Adult consumes about 1 hour of my day. Mainstream 2 or 3. Make it work for you. Don't work for it.

My fiancé is a RN. She started out as a CNA and did her fare share of ass wiping. After that she was a LPN and still wiped ass. Now she is an RN and while I don't think she wipes ass now, she still has to do some disgusting things. It's tough work being a nurse of any kind (I hear about it almost every night) but she does love her job because she is helping people. If you are trying to be a nurse because they get paid good take the time and get your RN. You can't really advance much as a LPN.

Whatever you decide I wish you good luck. I'll stick to selling porn. I'm getting to the point where I can see quitting my "day job" is a possibility.

Fack.... after you burn a 6/7 year hole in your resume and get used to some of the job perks it's hard to think of starting over as a lacky somewhere. Plus this industry is one of the most innovative and it's only going to grow. I take comfort in the fact that there's a huge percentage of the "mainstream" population ready for retirement soon if i get sick of being a dirtbag.

It's just a business. I try to do and learn many different things so to be exciting and interesting. I never really considered it like "wow im in adult business".

i think you pretty much nailed it when you said that your wife loves her job. no job is glamourous. none. theres pros and cons to everything. but if you love what you do, then the job will still make you happy, regardless. :) i am so thrilled about about starting my nursing career, that I could burst! most people couldnt handle the nursing field, hence, why they are not in nursing. the ones that can do the job, and take the good with the bad, chose the right career. for me, online porn is not the right "career". its been good to me over the past 6 yrs, but the end of my porn promoting career is coming.
