Anyone else here who thought they where in shape can't do more than 4 chin-ups?
 
148lbs, benching 170, curling reps of 90lbs, yet for the life of me I can't even pull my body weight up.

And I thought I was in shape :(

when i was a kid [10-12]i could do 28
these days id be lucky if i could do 6... but i could probably do 3 or 4.
i only weigh 90lbs soaking wet, so its really embarrassing

I can do 4 but not much more than that...the problem with me is I have an 84" wingspan...my arms are really long and I have to pull up nearly twice as far as the average guy...I can remember in basic training the short guys would kick ass on the pullups and situps and I would kick their ass in running (I have a long stride as well)....

Are you using proper technique? If you're not, you might be using your arm muscles more than your back.

Remember, shoulder blades closed, chest out, pull with your back.

you're not the only one who needs to kick their workout up a notch.. ;X

i quit working out every morning almost two months ago as a result of what my doctor thinks might be hypothyroidal neuropathy. FUN!

i need to get back in the game ASAP though..

chin ups have to be one of the toughest exercises
