Should we start kicking people out of the industry?

It's no secret that there are people in the industry who are over all not very well liked and hopefully sooner or later they leave the business. I mentioned this during YP this past weekend, someone brought up a name, and suddenly everyone in ear shot started to bash this person.

Our industry has a few people in it that frankly no one seems to want in the business. Sooner or later they party too hard, make a huge mistake and embarress themselves, or otherwise burn out. But should we start blacklisting people and stop doing business with them?

(And no, I won't mention any names.)

OG LennyT 09-25-2006 08:25 PM

Even though you guys are bigshot Playboy reps now, you cant force people to stop doing business with others.

I know I know.. hidden message :)

xxxice 09-25-2006 08:26 PM

I think I know :)

Juicy D. Links 09-25-2006 08:28 PM

i hope it wasnt me :sadcrying :sadcrying :sadcrying :sadcrying

squishypimp 09-25-2006 08:28 PM

eventually if their rep is so far tarnished it will bring about a fade out period of that person.

Adult Warden 09-25-2006 08:28 PM

dissipate 09-25-2006 08:32 PM

I wonder how many people are reading this thread and saying "oh shit is that me?"

Digipimp 09-25-2006 08:33 PM

no just send them to other messageboards

Sly 09-25-2006 08:34 PM

So you all sat around mentioning somebody and bashing them but none of you are willing to post who you think just plain sucks ass? Heh. Ok. Cool.

I would much rather have somebody tell me they think I'm an asshole than snicker about me behind my back. Word does get around.

Digipimp 09-25-2006 08:37 PM

i think most of us do. but saying should we kick them out of the industry is not the same thing as knowing people that should be gone

biftek 09-25-2006 08:42 PM

shit i must have typed in the wrong url , this thread sounds more like a pack of girls in high school

DamageX 09-25-2006 08:44 PM

If this was possible, then there wouldn't be any cheaters, spammers or fraudsters. Back to the drawing board.

MikeB 09-25-2006 08:49 PM

For this to work the person would need to be dependent upon all others for his livelihood, plus the entire industry would have to be united against said person.

Also, he or she may find help with the old addage "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Perhaps I should go ahead with my Adult Industry Business Rating database :-)

But it does bring to mind a question, so who are all these popular people who have the power to blacklist some of these 'most hated' industry people?

It would be good if we can raise expectations in general. Adult is a business like everything else. Let's keep the focus on that.

People who do things that really do hurt everyone in the industry should be called on the carpet more.

chances are its probably the useless affiliate reps with no traffic who really arent in a position to turn away anyones business anyway.

Holly 09-25-2006 09:06 PM

Yes.

And I vote we start with Sly. My pool is filthy and all he does is sit around on his ass!

No, that's not it. This isn't a popularity contest; We are here to do business. But some people give the industry a bad name. But some people come into the business only because of the nature of the our business and the potential to see nudity, put together a program in less than a year of being in the industry, and then spend most of their time bragging about their toys.

Grimshawn was mentioned above. He was well liked, humorous, seemed motivated, and his antics were amusing - until he started breaking things in hotel rooms and got out of control. He tried to get a few things off the ground but in the end just couldn't pull it off. He was more or less run out of the industry.

Because of the nature of our industry - adult content - we have a bad reputation to begin with. Shouldn't we be concerned about our reptuation overall as an industry?

Nature takes its course....

When the yin and the yang are out of balance the stability and foundation crumbles....

People in this biz have short memory spans...

In fact there is one person on this board who has restarted posting here after a few months or so of no presence.... this was after he was outed out bigtime (DH knows who i am referrring to ) Now I dont forget.... I know what happened.... Sad part is there are new people coming onboard all the time..
and these vermin will once again prey on the uninformed....

Oh and for the record...I am not Gay.

Fat chance; get back to work. I'm not talking about any former or current ICS employee. You aren't getting away that easy.

so whats wrong with starting a program and bragging about toys? i can think of far worse things people have done to me in this industry, if someone wants to brag about their toys and start a program then more power to them, as long as it doesnt effect me somehow.

beemk 09-25-2006 09:25 PM

I have no problem with people starting their own program and enjoying the rewards it can bring. People who start their own program, brag about their toys, yet can't pay their staff or their hosting bill is another story.

As for me bragging, no one gives a shit about my garage floor and no one is impressed that I bought a used Mustang no matter how many gears it has.

Rattlehead 09-25-2006 09:41 PM

Geez Rochard, if your gonna start another useless gfy thread you might as well make it a drama thread, it will get more views. :upsidedow

Btw, in case any of you wanted to know I went to Claim Jumpers tonight and had the ribs.
