was getting a plasma TV but found something better
 

I went shopping for a plasma TV today and while looking found the new Sony TV - Sony Grand WEGA 60" 1080p Rear-Projection SXRD HDTV

its rear projection but blew away the plasma's, did some research on it tonight and plan to get it tomorrow, anyone else get one of these and do you like it?

you cannot hang it on the wall but for me thats not a big deal.

get a projector

It's a DLP then right? I'm in need of a new tv and am considering a 1080p of one brand or another..

I have Sony Wega but not with this feature Rear-Projection.

rear projection needs the "lightbulb" changed every 2000 hours or something, they are like 200-300$ a pop.

a year or 2 ago I wanted to go with a rear projection SONY
but my TV is playing many hours a day (just on, not always watching it), and I've read the lifetime of those bulbs wasn't all that great and they weren't cheap

you're looking at the good TV brand tho, don't want anything else but SONY either

Go buy it, don't hesitate. My friend has one in his house, its the best looking HDTV ive seen yet, better than the plasmas and the DLP/LCD sets. And projectors are a pain, you need a really dark room to get the full performance out of them.

I think you should buy it. Come on!

the cheapass 600 bucks ones you do but they get better all the time - if youre lookin at one under 1000 ansilumen then forget it, you gotta close curtains n all true
