Outlook Express and others not working after doing a windows update

So I just did a windows update on my borrowed copy of XP and now my outlook express, icq, and a bunch of other program exe files are missing. Anyone know how to solve this problem other than reformating?

Also anyone know the directory for icq 2003b history?

No I never did that before, I will try it after I backup everything. Think that will work?

Maybe the update checked to see if it was a valid copy and found it was not so it disabled them.

Expect everybody to help you out with all your pirated software problems...

My "borred copy" is giving me genuine windows popups every now and then.. I have like 5 oem copies that have come with pc's and laptops, but they're always stuck with that machine so i just download one i can use on them all.

Almost time to start buying OS's i guess ;)

Yeah, that's probably the reason why you're currently fucked.

It you have automatic updates activated with Windows XP AND a bootleg copy, you will experience problems. Microsoft has gotten extremely savvy with software theft.

Just pony up for a real one, though chances are you will have just as many bugs :1orglaugh
