It depends which airline, some airlines have banned Dell and Apple laptops because they use sony batteries that have been exploding and catching on fire.

You'll just have to let it go through x-ray and they might ask you to turn it on. But they aren't banned.

I wouldn't let by laptop to fly apart of me. So i guess they should let me carry it with me. :)

i keep reading about Dell batteries catching on fire. thats scary stuff. especially if happened on a plane.

they arent banned but they make you take it out and put it into a seperate bin for the x-ray machine.
