Photographers - Flash Cards - Sandisk vs Lexar
Photographers - Flash Cards - Sandisk vs Lexar
what do you use? pros and cons? discuss - |
my only experience is with lexar.. cept they fucked me over on the refund (cheap bastards lol).. it's a 1gb card i got for my camera it works great
ive had sandisk forever with my digital cam, and it has always treated me well.
A lot of media (tape, discs, DLT, memory cards, etc) is manufactured by one company, and then purchased and repackaged by many other companies, so you are often only paying for branding.
Not sure about this specific comparison. ADG Webmaster |
Just keep a back up... no matter which brand you go with.
I have used both and they both were fine.
for my 2 cents out there Im using SanDisk now. and im only running on about six 1 GB cards. i had a hitachi 4 GB card and then it took a shit after about maybe 4000 pics in somewhere of 4 months. hope this helps
I've only used SanDisk - never let me down :thumbsup

I'm curious about this one myself.. I had always thought that all of the flash memory was made by hynix and infineon and a few others and just resold by the big names. I am assuming thought that the bigger and more well respected brands probably have higher testing standards on the oem cards they purchase.
they all break so just have a bunch handy
Sandisk hasn't let me down. my lexar batteries for my 20D however suck quite a bit. its not apples to apples, but just my experience...
I am using SanDisk 1 GB extreme III, and I have 512Mb Hama. They are allways working fine. But my choice is SanDisk extreme III cards working really fast
My Sandisk Ultra II and Extreme III CF cards have never skipped a beat.
I've used both and never any problems:upsidedow
see whos here tonight

bizzzump
never had any issues with Sandisk....never used Lexar...
I have both in my collection, at multiple write speeds. I've also used multiple third party CF cards and never really had an issue, though it WILL be one of them that fucks me. Lexar and SanDisk are the Coke and Pepsi of CF cards.
Just make sure you get one with an appropriate write speed (if you aren't shooting sports or 20 frames a second, no need to spend the extra on the Extreme III or 80X cards), and if you haven't yet, buy at least one with free file recovery software. :2 cents: |
