Help me make a business decision...(New Way To Promote Sites)

After doing some surfing on a porn surfer messageboard I came across this poster who posts dvd rips but gives sample images of the clip.

He has a software that lets him take a few seconds of movie clips into a GIF animated file.

Here are the samples:

Now I'm thinking to myself, I can get a lot to clicks to my sponsors on my moviepost (I know I'm giving a great idea away here, but it would be A LOT of extra work and it would get copied eventually, and it may not make a difference in sales)

Last night I got the software needed to do this.

My question is, should I even put forth all the extra effort to start utilizing this "technology"?

And will it make my page SUPER SLOW to load for a 56k surfer, if I have 5 of these loading on a page.

Not a bad idea dude....maybe try placing only 1 clip per page and see how they load on a wireless pda for example ....my :2 cents:

so instead of going to the gally url with gallys of 20 secs each (or so), they see 6-7 secs of animation and blow a load?

Seems like interesting tech, but I think Id get a headache from 100 animated thumbs on a page... hehehe

Damn just checked the file size for the first time
That second image is 1.54 MB

I think it will really increase clicks though, but with people on 56k I think this is going to just be a bother. But then again this still might be worth giving a try if your have a INCREDIBLE hosting deal

Oh not to mention that the speeds at which animated gifs are played on IE and FF are off...
