On that point... yes.

Musically.... Monkees aren't even in the same universe.

In the beginning. They did play their own instruments by the time they were touring.

1 Beatle still putting out viable albums
2 Monkees here and there at casinos.

listen - Mickey was a better drummer than Ringo hands down - Davey was cuter than Paul .... Mike wore a wool hat and George Harrison couldn't pull that off fashion wise .... i will give you that John Lennon was marginally better than Peter. Monkees win again.

sheesh - you can see Davey playing the tambourine - it's on film for god's sake - or are we supposed to believe that was some kind of trickery done in the editing room? puh-leeeeze

The monkees were a huge influence on the beatles.

Don't get me wrong. I'm a huge Monkees fan. Love their stuff. But music-wise, overall impact the band had on history, the Beatles are in a league of their own, period.

But if you're comparing cuteness of the band members, sure... you're probably correct. Although I'd still hazard a guess that more women have creamed themselves over the fab four than the Monkees, even with half their crew deceased. :D
