1. file a police report
2. file a claim with the post office
3. call ifriends and talk to them

iFriends should also be able to initiate and investigation and since the check endorsements were forged they should be able to get the money back from the banks and reissue you a check. May take a while.

Hopefully ifriends can cancel the checks if you are fast enough - you should have all the information about who cashed the checks from the bank in which they used (if they used a payday loan kind of store, their Drivers licence and SSN should be on the back of the check)

hope this helps

the way it works here in the USA is you go to your local police station and fill out a police report, then you take that report to the post office and fill out a mail theft form and give them the police report

there is no use coming to the USA and telling the police here, because no crime was commited in the USA, so they can't do a thing

My bank would give me the money back as the bank that cashed the check either did not check for ID of the person cashing the check or accepted a fake ID. Neither are my fault as the issuer of the check. So, yeah, iFriends should be able to get the money back and since these checks were not cashed in the issuing country it maybe that it has not hit their acct yet and they can stop payment on it.

Maybe Will76 can help you out too. Paging Will76. :)

doesn't matter

the USA police have nothing to do with your country. if the checks were sent to your country, and stolen in your country, it has nothing to do with our country except that the person that stole them cashed them here

once again, you need to contact your local authorities and file a report, if they feel there is enough calue they will start an international investigation

seriously, if you walk into a police station in the USA and say you are from "country", they will say "so what?"

sexxxydesign.com 09-22-2006 10:57 AM

for all that i know the checks may have never been mailed in the first place.. who knows..

It's Argentina... Your friend is too naive to get his checks sent through regular mail, the guys at Correo Argentino are doing a feast with his $$ :(.
