Site feedback from other webmasters?
 

Hows about some feedback on theshagmag.com ? I tried to make it as SE-friendly as possible and kept the clutter to a minimum. I realize the front page could load slightly faster if I cut down on the number of posts displayed, but I like it as it is sooo. :winkwink: Other than that, I'm open to any suggestions you guys might have. There isn't a ton of content because it's still new.

I'm also open to non-porn link trades if anyone is interested; PR doesn't matter.:upsidedow

Looks very nice, but loads VERY slowly - I'm talking 30-45 seconds on a 5mbps cable line. And for the love of god make use of the HEIGHT and WIDTH tags in all your images - the slow loading of them makes the page "shake" as they load and the design must shift in height to compensate. If the tags were in place the design would look the exact same from first view until fully loaded.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm on a cable too, I guess I didn't realize how slow it loads because it was already cached for me. For the images, I use this script(phpthumb.sourceforge.net) combined with mod rewrite to generate and cache all thumbnail sizes on the fly. The default compression was 75 before which made each pic 7-15k so I just now bumped it down to 4-5k for each thumbnail. That should cut the load time down. I also copy and paste the image sets in bulk so I don't think I'll be adding height/width tags. Maybe I'll find an alternative fix for the jumping.

Just shecked load time on an optimization website. I didn't test it before the thumb size change tho.
