I nominated myself (and my Grandpa) for an Emmy Award

Pretty bold, huh?
I submit an application for my grandpa's podcast, "HugNation."

There is an obscure technical category that we are elligible for. So I figured, what the hell!?
I made a 7 min excerpt DVD and wrote up an application, sent 'em $200, and figured it would be one more thing for the old man to live for. :)

Wish us Luck!

I just figured, even if it is a long shot. What if he even got a nomination due to the "awwww" factor. We'll see soon, I suppose!

tony286 09-21-2006 07:14 PM

why dont you do a documentary "grandpa and me" it would be a very marketable thing. I have complete faith you could pull it off.

I actually started one. I even had a camera guy tape our lunches for a while. But creating a full-length story arch proved to be a challenge I'm still struggling with. Some day I hope to get there.

there are great books out there that would help with that. Also most of the time out of the footage the storyline emerges.

I have some ideas. But I came to the realization that I don't have the skills to do it justice. (I think I have some exceptional footage...Much much more than a home video about my grandpa.) So when life slows down (right!) I'll probably try to find an experienced doc maker to hire/help me. I have a feeling it will be after he dies, unfortunately.

At least I played the first 20 minutes for him at his Bday last year. he was THRILLED.

MandyBlake 09-21-2006 08:02 PM

oh man that is awesome! good luck!

shekinah 09-21-2006 09:05 PM

Well Good luck and bring home the bacon... Hope I can have a piece of it...Wish you all the best!
