why do you guys like multitab browsing ?

i don't get it, what's so great about it ?

Barefootsies 09-21-2006 03:31 AM

1 window, 10 tabs.

For those of us who have multiple applications runnning at once,... there is only so much desktop space. Even at 1200 x whatever. So if you are running PhotoShop, Premiere, your media player or have music in the background, and Lord knows what else. You do not need 2, 5, 10 windows cluttering things up.

:2 cents:

does'nt tab browsing eat a lot more memory ?

fallenmuffin 09-21-2006 04:23 AM

Not really and tabbed browsing is the best. I first came acrossed it in an IE browser called 'SlimBrowser' which i did some development on then in Firefox/Opera... I hear IE has it now but Firefox stole my heart... lol i love you tab browsing..

Klen 09-21-2006 04:25 AM

Why is so great? Are you crazy?I cant imagine my life without it.Sometime i have 100 tabs opened, imagine how will that look in internet explorer.

gooddomains 09-21-2006 04:25 AM

I can jerk off to one picture while loading the next in another tab

lagwagon 09-21-2006 04:25 AM

tab browsing rules

lagwagon 09-21-2006 04:25 AM

grrr double post

Adult Search Results 09-21-2006 04:26 AM

100 tabs opened? what you doing?

Sparks 09-21-2006 04:28 AM

Yeah, I agree with most in here that if you have a whole bunch of windows open it helps. Most times I have 8-10 windows open for FireFox and with tabs it maes it much easier to manage.

surfing a forum without tabs sucks...
i middle click all the threads i want to read and just switch between them

tabs are great :thumbsup

Kevsh 09-21-2006 05:45 AM

I couldn't live without it now that I have it ... I have about 15 open right now ... I don't even want to imagine what that would be like with IE!

:)

drjones 09-21-2006 06:08 AM

Tabs are amazing. Besides Opera (Operas old behavior didnt really feel tab like), I started using Galeon a couple years ago. This browser had tabs way back before firefox existed, and even before Mozilla had tabs. I couldnt live without them after using that browser.

Usually I end up doing a lot more surfing with tabs.. open up a bunch of links I may not have bothered to click before and just send to a tab in the background, and pick them up later. Everything is all in your one workspace so things never get cluttered.

georgeyw 09-21-2006 06:19 AM

Tabs are great for all of the above mentioned reasons AND if you include the use of the CTRL key and left mouse = pure bliss....the right mouse button is almost made redundant :)

WebairGerard 09-21-2006 06:19 AM

Tab browsing is a must. I could not be without it.

SomeCreep 09-21-2006 06:26 AM

saves space

It uses more memory than one window without a tab... but less memory than 2 new full windows.
So 2 tabs or 2 windows? 2 tabs is way better for the system, and way easier to manage.

Dragar 09-21-2006 06:30 AM

just another thing to slow the start of browsing I figure

Vlad 09-21-2006 06:32 AM

I tried tab browsing but didn't liked it =/

SCORE Ralph 09-21-2006 07:39 AM

I love it. Very useful... if Im looking at one page with many links, I simply ctrl click to let it open on new tab while I continue reading. When Im done, I go through the new links I opened. All in one window.

When my memory usage exceeds at 200k, I will close Mozilla then re-open it again.

so my task bar stay nice and clean...

fhgmaster 09-21-2006 08:07 AM

I can't live without tabbed browsing anymore. You can click links on a site and keep on reading while the target sites are loaded in background.

donross 09-21-2006 08:36 AM

not so messy to use....

LittleSassy 09-21-2006 09:05 AM

easier to navigate an less windows to click on....

I get incredibly frustrated when I can't use tabs on a computer. I can have three windows open, each with tabs for different types of sites...

I can reorder them, colour code them, auto reload them, etc etc. Now if only they would make my coffee....

SitedepthOmar 09-21-2006 09:12 AM

tabs is great to check stats for example u set it up in tabs so that all the progs u promote open at once in tabs and then u just cruise through them

viki 09-21-2006 09:13 AM

less clutter = more productivity. that's how i see it.

CuriousToyBoy 09-21-2006 09:16 AM

I love it ;-)

Dagwolf 09-21-2006 09:18 AM

I like the tabbed browsing for keeping organized but I don't like some of the other features in Opera and Firefox.

Marshal 09-21-2006 09:19 AM

i have 21 tabs currently opened... :pimp
