Would you be upset if 1:10 or 1:20 of your sales were not reported?

Basicly same issue.

Not accusing anyone of shaving. Not accusing anyone of improper behavior. I just want a clear answer. Whether it was an oversight or it does not work how I seem to feel it does.

Who wouldn't be?

adultguus 09-21-2006 01:09 AM

No. If I don't like the conversion of a sponsor, I drop them. It doesn't matter if they shave or not to me. What matters is if I can get a reasonable ROI with them.

ROI is pretty important for sure

It's unfortunate that people have to look at it that way. I don't suppose there are a lot of alternatives.

The problem is defining what are your sales?

We use CCBILL and you can't tamper with their site and tracking.

The problem are the sales that just turn up. Type ins, rejoins (members who cancel and come back 3 months later) surfers who wipe cookies (few seem to join the first day they see a site so how many wipe cookies?), affiliates who just screw up the links (yes found at least two who did that both are now converting) and simply people who turn up and join. Have not got a clue where they come from.

Are we unique or the norm is the questions. I would say with rejoins we do better than the average site. They simply do not add enough. Type ins are Golden, a guy bothers to type in against a guy who clicked a link. No brainer which one is more interested.

So the simple thing is to just up the payout to the level we planned to payout in the budget.

But then people think you're shaving and you lose business. People who have never sent you a single click and do not have a clue that is, the affiliates you already have just bank more. :Oh crap

As I said are we different or the norm. I'm not claiming we are better than all sites, just better than a lot.

I really don't see the point in worrying about sponsors shaving sales. Like I said, I'm in this business to make money. A program shaving so much that I can't make the ROI I like to make with a sponsor, will be dropped by me and by anyone else. Hence, no business for them anymore and nothing to shave.

If you invest like $10k in traffic to a sponsor and it brings you $14k in return and you consider the $4k a good ROI, who cares if 1:10 sales where shaved off? If that's the way they can make sure they can pay you like they do, well great! Why would it matter to anyone? It's not that if they wouldn't have shaved the 1:10 you would have made more money, because they probably would have to pay you less per sale.

Why is that unfortunate? This is the way anybody should look at any business.

Did you even read the fn thread?

Solid Bob 09-21-2006 02:09 AM

ASM,

I don't see this turning out as you would hope. My guess would be that most programs were / are

a) too lazy to go fix everything.
b) don't want it fixed.

I know my downline to just a few programs made me well over what a good paying job would and I would be some kind of pissed to find out they were robbed from me. Hopefully you find out otherwise but I have my doubts.

yes, of course...

I've been telling people for years to look at the $$ in the bank and not the % on the signature. Sometimes it works.

You guys are completely missing what this thread brings up. This has nothing to do with what you are talking about.

Antonio 09-21-2006 03:20 AM

hm, that's weird question - would I be upset if sponsors are shaving less than they are shaving right now?

Dude I answered the question 'Would you be upset if 1:10 or 1:20 of your sales were not reported?'. This question was asked by the ts and nothing else. I did NOT read the other thread, because else I would have replied there.

Klen 09-21-2006 04:43 AM

PMdave 09-21-2006 04:44 AM

$/own measured click is all I care for.

~Ray 09-21-2006 07:04 AM

if you refer a webmaster - that webmaster should be in your downline forever.

If someone shaves you, how would you know without hacking their database?

What's the other questions?
