How is prostitution illegal but porn legal?
You can pay a girl and a guy to have sex together and film them or better yet, hire a girl to have sex with you, and you film the both of you, but when you dont film it, it's illegal and prostitution. Is this just a really awesome loop hole in the law? Why dont John's just get video cameras and shoot themselves in porn with a tripod? This has always puzzled me.

Porn is illegal, my friend - and when you create adult content that features people having sex, you're guilty of pandering. In my home state it's a Class 6 Felony.
THis is why I shoot in Los Angeles. Why is it legal in LA? It's the only place where it's been tested in the courts. |

The answer lies in a case called California v. Freeman.
If you shoot porn anywhere outside of California, you're treading on unsure footing, though. No other jurisdiction has adopted the standard the California Supreme Court set in that case. Also, it's worth noting that 'point of view' content in which the male actor is the one actually shooting the video likely wouldn't qualify for protection under Freeman.... Read the decision. It should be required reading for anyone considering shooting porn, really. - Q. |
Heh - my post above should have said "read the case, and then ask a (good, competent, knowledgeable) attorney to walk you through its implications."
Anybody in this business, especially those shooting content, who do so without consulting with an attorney who is familiar with and versed in the legal issues surround adult entertainment.... well, suffice to say it's not a wise thing to do. - Q. |
That case killed Hal and put him in the poor house ...

prostitution dont have the 2257 thing to begin with...

because laws who have that fluke are often ran by hypocrites who base their country policy on their and their friends stocks, getting the support by playing the religious sheep citizens.
