Simple: hardcore gives your client a hardon. Softcore gives your client a softon.

I would think hardcore would make more money but that would be hard to prove. I would take a look at what most of the biggest sites out there are promoting to form my opinion.

squishypimp 09-20-2006 03:14 PM

i like hot women in hardcore action....thats just me :)

Soft core costs much less to produce.
Soft core technically has a larger potential market.
Soft core sites often cost as much as hardcore ones.

Hardcore is expensive to produce.
Hardcore has a larger number of promoters.
Hardcore sites often cost as much as soft core ones.

The number of potential customers that desire titillation over exploitation is about the same.

So the answer would be text makes the most.
Also the processor does pretty well too.

True BUT in the world we live in we see softcore everywhere. We're litteraly surrounded by it in fashion, advertizing, television, movies, art.... Everything is suggestive or sexy. Why would ppl pay for what they can get out of a Sears catalog in the women's underware section?

I do think there is money to make in the softcore biz as long as its REAL. But hardcore will always bring the big bucks faster.

Doctor Dre 09-20-2006 03:30 PM

Both makes good money... I make good 4 from softcore sets right now.

GlydeGirl 09-20-2006 03:32 PM

I think the key is to diversify one's portfolio so as to maximize the returns on both genres of porn.

You said it yourself.
Sears paid someone right?

BTW it is more than just a visual, it is the surrounding fantasy and interaction that one gets. Then there are some of us that would rather not see cock. Then typically most blur the word of soft core. Many now a days assume masturbation is soft core which it is not, but that is besides the point.

I would rather see a partially clothed or fully clothed girl and fantasize about the rest and want more, than to see it all and have my desire quenched.

You're right. Although softcore is more accessible without paying 'too much'. I for myself, exploited the softcore world for a few years (as content as much as in the office) and if there wouldnt be no money to make in that field I wouldnt be here. Although it is proven that a hardcore video will get more attention then a softcore even just considering the 'curiosity' factor.

I see that phenomenon in our live chat studios often; we have beautiful girls that wont do hardcore, and 'okay' looking girls that will go all the way. Ultimatly the hardcore girls make the big bucks in the end. The good looking ones that wont go too far gets the attention in the first place but since they wont 'deliver' what most viewers wants to see they eventually lose there...

That's what we usually do; though personally, I think both niche work pretty well.

psili 09-20-2006 05:57 PM

Isn't it about what type of traffic you have / can get?

If I have tons of searches for sweaty socks, I'd be retarded to try and sell granny panties.

Well... That could be a bad example. Sweaty sock lovers could be those who also dig on granny panties *shrug*

pornpf69 09-20-2006 07:04 PM

it depends on how you are promoting and what you are promoting...

BT 09-20-2006 07:17 PM

Hardcore does better conversions

Barefootsies 09-20-2006 07:37 PM

They both pay well if you know what you are doing.

You have to know your market(s) and niches, amung other things.

Anyone who tells you softcore doesn't sell, and/or can't make good money needs to go back to webby 101 and learn some skills then. If you know what you are doing, you can make money pushing anything.

:2 cents:
