Announcement - TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Attention....Anyone who contracts work with me...I am no longer going to put up with bullshit excuses...I am tired of people dicking me around on getting shit done...This is business, not friendship...So I am going to start treating the situation that way...You are costing me money and its fucken pissing me off...
Thank you for your time... If you do a shitty job and fucking around...Your shit will get called out...I'm tired of it P.S. - I am always hiring designers and programmers...So if you can get shit done on a ETA you set and actually meet the deadline...Hit me up! P.S.S. - I have used MachineGunKelly for alot of my recent design work...I am happy with him...But since he does such a good job he keeps getting booked out :( So I am always up to see what people can create... |

If you cannot commit to two week, a month or whatever I want. Then give me a couner offer. Just make sure you have it done 100% by then. I do not want to hear about the dead family members, stomach flu, rush jobs, and the hundred other excuses I've heard over the years. Give me a timeline you can commit to, or do not accept the job. :321GFY |

Wasn't me he is talkin bout btw ;) |
You hit my sentiments exactly. I've been fed so many horseshit excuses over the year that I've almost taken it as commonplace. I'm tired of it as well and have started to take a stand.

You know my stance capt'n.

You know what annoys me, and I'm probably alone on this, is that when I write a programme which calls and writes to multiple files/directories, I suggest that the safest and most reliable method is to have the contractor give me shell access to the box to install it. A good number get so paranoid they won't. I mean, wtf am I going to do? I just wrote file after file of code for them, where I could have slipped in a backdoor/exploit which you would never find if I really wanted access to the box. But no, oh no. They want an installer script. An installer script takes a huge amount of time as it has to take into account endless possibilites for installation fuckup.
I do the installer scripts, but it *really* pisses me off, and takes a huge amount of work (the bigger the script, the longer the installer script). Just give your programmer access to the box - he/she know's their programme/script - they know how it should be installed. </rant out> --edit to clarify, this pet peave does not stem from AW in the slightest. Just thought I'd let you all aware... |
